Need advice on a weapon for my sorcerer.

I know this is probably dumb to ask but I can't decide between bow or Destruction staff for my Sorcerer.
I am only really gonna be using the conjuration branch from the class so I don't feel I will get as much out of Destruction staffs as compared to a Bow as I am gonna be in the back at all times more than anything. Plus the passives are nice to maintain keep a way from the looks of it.
On the other hand Bow might no give out as much damage as destruction staffs so the bow might have dps problems if I need it for a swarm or something.
I know I could probably end up with both options available by later levels but I just don't know which to run first.
If it helps, the character is a Breton.

✭✭✭✭✭Pets scale based on magicka. For bow damage, you need stamina. They're mutually exclusive.
A bow user will have weak pets.PS4 / NA

So are their plus sides for using the Bow on a sorcerer past the passives?0
