Is Dragonknight simply low on combat AOES?

I've been looking at the abilties for dragonknight and I can only seem to work out 1 actual attack AOE, Lava, but you need rank 42 in Ardent Flame, so it's hardly something workable generally at lower levels (okay early 20s isn't low but nevertheless). I know there's a combat AOE as an Ultimate, Take Flight, and I do use that. I use a sword and shield, so yes I'm aware my weapon choice isn't going to work for attack AOES in its line but I was hoping to be able to use at least one such AOE before I've practically finished the game (as a non end gamer). I really don't want to change my weapon as I'm very comfortable with it and it allows me to be a somewhat offensive tank type even though I play solo. Anyway, is there any AOES I can use that don't take anywhere near as long to get as Lava?

I understand if there isn't and I might need to consider respeccing and choosing a different weapon if I really want any such AOES but I was just hoping I wouldn't need to. Also I completely solo with thiis character, no group dunegons and whatnot, just pve.

Ash cloud - targeted aoe
Burning talons - aoe dot/root
And all 3 ultimates deal aoe damage

@Rockenchick2015 level 42 is nothing like "practically finished the game", the end-gamer which you don't seem to be interested .. and neither am I .. is a long way beyond level 42.

OP: If leveling a class tree has slowed down, try placing more skills on your action bar from that one tree. You'll notice a significant increase in the experience gain, especially while turning in quests. I'm currently at Level 28 and Ardent Flame is Rank 34. My first action bar (DW) is set up with UF, FB and FC (to make closing the gap between mobs quicker), using the SoM for the Ulti. My second action bar is filled with two skills from Earthen Heart, Draconic Power and one 2H skills (Execute/Buff). When turning in quests, I alternate the action bar to try my best to level each set of trees evenly.

Fyi, if you are leveling a weapon skill line, you do not have to have the weapon equipped to level both the skill line and the skill. You just can't use the skill. Also, if you want to level a particular line faster, put 2 skills from that line on your bar for faster leveling. In this context, "skills" include ultimates. In other words, 2 abilities, or one ability and one ultimate.

True. My comment wasn't to insinuate that you need to be using XYZ Weapon, just show my current setup is and how it's been working for me. Good point though.

In addition to this, the Volatile Armour morph of Spiked Armour does decent AOE damage on activation.

Inhale
Inferno

DK has a whole set of AOE and DOT's....

Inferno isn't an aoe anymore, it only hits a single target every 6 seconds.

actually it dmges up to 60 targets

Okay, thanks for all that. I just had some issues figuring out what moves were AOES (or really basically just affecting more than a single target but AOE is so much easier to say) and what weren't. Plus, I kinda screwed up a bit with this toon by having them a crafting for 2 things rather than 1, so I'm running lower on skill points than my other toons (and at this point it'd simply take too long to respec and have another toon take over one of them). Therefore I wanted to know what I really wanted to aim for rather than trial and error.

I agree rank 42 isn't really near the end of the game in general and I didn't consider changing my skills for quest turns in to build them faster, thanks for letting me know.

In a way. Now it gives you 10% spell crit and fires bolts of flame at enemies every few seconds.

I like it better now (I run it on both bars).........I have enough fire damage with my other skills.
