Ideal Templar Race (preferably dagger fall covenant)

I'm about ready to start my first Templar on consoles but find that it's difficult to decide a race for it. I plan on making a Templar focusing on class skills with S&B for some extra sturdiness and maybe tanking. I'll still need stamina for the weapon but I found that red guards don't have enough going for magicka. Which race is best for the idea I have and if possible, which is best for the job in the dagger fall covenant

If you want to focus on magic, Breton is a great choice; they make great healers and caster DPS and are passable as tanks. If you're looking to tank and make a stamina DPS build, then Reguard and Orc are both fine. I find the utility best on a caster templar setup, and Magicka Tanks are completely viable, so I'd suggest going Breton.

Thanks, I have a sorcerer as Breton and I love the passives. Always enough magicka. I wanted a somewhat Tanky but magicka focused Templar and now that I know Breton isn't the worst tanking choice I can rest in peace

I use a dark elf. Pretty solid all around, seldom have issues with magika or stamina

IF you have the Imperial edition, Imperials don't make a bad choice either.

Using a dunmer had its benefits on the dps side as a few templar skills do fire damage. It seems like you want stam and magika? If so you are in for a unsatisfactory surprise.

Nah, I'm good with mostly magicka based build. I tend to prefer class skills and a few guild and destruction staff skills. I'll tinker around but probably stick with mostly magicka and some stamina on the side
