Skill point placement for a 2h sword/resto staff templar

The second i picked up the game and read the description of the templar i thought to myself "oh wow i can be a Paladin (like in WOW)" Now i know this isnt wow and i know its a templar not a paladin. But i also know Elder Scrolls allows for so many build ideas and player freedom. Im asking for the best placement of my skillpoints to make my healing/fire or spear attacks to be optimal. But also be effective with my 2hander. So far i have about 15 or so points into magicka and 2 points into stamina. Should i go 50 magicka 12 stam? I dont know what to do really...i want my magic to be strong but not make my 2h abilities weak.

    The hybrid struggle is real.

I play a hybrid Sorcerer who uses s/b and restoration staff. I split my stat points evenly between the three choices which has worked out pretty well so far. There isn't going to be a formula or anything to tell you the best way to distribute your points though, so just do it however you want. If you feel like your magicka is lacking in fights add some more as you get points... same with health and stamina.

I'm vr2 now and working my way through Cadwell's Silver. My Battlemage has proven to be a very capable soloer and he holds it down in group delves as a tank as well.

    Good luck with your Paladin!

Hybrids are not worth at all trust me i am playing since early PC beta. Since there are no soft caps pure stamina/magicka builds are far superior atm.

@killsmoke don't listen to the hate, play how you want. You won't be a competitive trial runner for a top end raid guild with your Paladin but your build will work out just fine if you keep at it.

EDIT: Although I did just notice that this post is in a PvP section... I haven't tried PvP with my Battlemage because I have a fun magicka NB that better fits my PvP style. I'd be interested to hear how you do in Cyrodiil

Well i only put it in here because of the "& skills" part of it. But ill be using him in pve mostly since this pvp sort of feels like i dont really get anyyhing out of it. I mean its really fun when 20+ people are listening to each other but that rarely ever happens to me so it ends up being fun but not as fun as a well oeganized group for dungeon running. Does this game have raiding aswell?

Go with full stam or stam/hp and aim for a bit mag regen to use blazing shield.
Full medium armor with crafted seducer set for example and blue stam/mag regen drink.

That Should be your 2h Paladin.

Although i do agree with you on this if i wanted a 2h paladin. But i want my 2h paladin to be a healer as well and i dont know if your build would be very strong for healing with the resto staff.

@killsmoke The PvP is a bit chaotic, but such is war. Because of the chaos and because I solo most of the time I chose to play a sneaky Magicka NB in the BwB campaign. I can stay invisible permanently with Dark Cloak which makes ganking a ton of fun. Sometimes I just run around the massive zerg battles invisible the whole time assassinating low health targets. All I need is efficient purge and dark cloak and I almost never die.

Most people are going to be very anti-hybrid builds but you'll find that most of those people have never tried them out. For pve my Battlemage is the most fun character I have and he has never had a problem holding his own in solo or group content.
