If you solo, the best PvP solo classes are Stamina Nightblade and Magicka Sorc. They're mobile and have an easier time escaping bad situations.

If you group up, all classes work. The ability to run away is unimportant. Now it's all about being able to dish out and take Crowd Control and AoE damage. Other than Templar healers, most classes work better as stamina builds (Steel Tornado is the best AoE, and by a large margin).

A few things help them survive, despite their lack of a shields or a great self-heal:

- Many many dodge rolls
- Several options for Major Expedition (huge run speed increase), at least one of which will work while you are stealthed without revealing you
- With just a bit of magicka recovery, enough magicka to purge ill effects and go invisible just long enough to break opponents' line-of-sight
- Optimized for Medium Armor, so you can sneak around without draining stamina
- Mass Hysteria
- Excellent burst damage, so you can ambush, kill, vanish and run. No other class is as good at picking someone out of a pack, killing them and getting away before the pack responds

Stamina Nightblades aren't invulnerable. But they have a really nice toolkit. I'm not really an expert on them yet -- mine is only V6 currently. But they definitely rival sorcs for mobility and getting away.
