Difference in weapon types of the same category.

I have created a Woodelf NB with the aim to use bow/dual wield.

What is the difference in the different types of one handed weapons? Axe/Sword/Dagger/Mace etc.

Are there any bonuses for using one type and not the other, or is it purely cosmetic?

Could you mix and match if you wanted, Dagger with Axe or is it advised you take 2 of the same?

Thanks in advance.

    Open your skill menu -> click on dual wield -> scroll to the passives -> read

    daggers = crit chance
    swords = extra damage
    axes = bleed damage
    maces = armour penetration

    You can mix as you want or take two of the same kind to get the bonus doubled.

    Note that a lot of bosses / mobs are immune to bleed, as well as players with a damage shield (I think - correct if wrong).

    This would suggest that axes are less than ideal.

    Also its worth noting that it will also impact where you start to spend your champion points when you get for VR.

    The Atronach tree for example there are four which increase weapon damage, one is for daggers, swords and 2h swords and the second is on mace/axe, and the other two (not relevant to your question however) are for destro staves and bows. So would suggest 2 blades or two 'blunt' for DW.
