Endgame viability for stamina DPS classes..

Hello,

I have to admit, i’m fairly new to all this, but reading so so much on different classes and theory crafting, i’m very interested in doing the endgame with this game, but my preferences really goes out to wielding physical, ala 2hander or DW, would you say, that by going the stamina DK (DW or 2hander) route, is indeed a viable option ?, does it hold up well against other classes ?, and how much do raid groups really utilise a stamina DK that goes 2hander or DW ?.

And regarding Templars who are in the same position, how does that class hold up against others when going a pure stamina Templar, and, how much do raids groups really utilise a stamina templar who duel wield's or goes 2hander ?.

Cheers,

2handed dragonknight works out well, and it's got a good bit of value to groups since you'll not only be doing heavy damage, but you can also offtank weaker mobs. Dragonknights and templars both have some good defensive abilities that mesh well with 2handed.

I dont typically recommend dual wield, however, for anyone other than sorcerors or nightblades (unless you plan on using a 2hander as your second weapon). Other than 2h's Momentum, the only way to get the major brutality buff (+20% weapon damage) in this game is through the sorceror's surge ability or the nightblade's power extraction ability. Dragonknights and Templars dont have those abilities, so to maximize damage you'll need to use a 2hander and the momentum buff. If you want to use dual wield on your second weapon slot, that works well enough, since you can activate momentum with your 2hander and then switch and you'll still have the major brutality buff for 20-30 seconds.

For any stamina build, you'll want medium armor. If you want to do an offtank/tough melee character, go with 2 heavy (shoulders and chestpiece) and 5 medium (head, legs, bracers, belt, boots). Otherwise, for pure damage purposes, go 7 medium. Spread your attributes with 3 points into stamina and 1 point into health, repeating. For a dragonknight, you may want to go 1 into magicka, 1 into health, and 2-3 into stamina repeating, since you'll be using non-stamina class abilities a little more (like reflective scales, burning talons, lava whip, or dragonblood).
