Stat Distribution

I am new to the game and playing a magicka Templar. I currently have 10 magicka and 2 health with 0 stamina. As a magic user, how should I distribute my points? Should I go 3 magicka for every 1 in health and stamina, keep them all equal? How did you higher level players spread your stat points? I plan to heal raids end game, but for now I need a leveling build. Thanks for the help.

What race are you? That will affect the answer. Some races have passives that will boost you max magicka, or maybe reduce the cost of your magicka etc.

I'm not huge into builds, but for my High Elf Templar healer I put none into stamina, can't recall my distribution on health/magicka though.

I would use it as you need it until you reach cap, then you can respec it for cheap. Put it in whatever point you find yourself needing, it's by no means concrete.

Once you reach cap and have an idea of the gear and roles you will be playing put your points into health until your health bar reaches the safe zone for your role. For example I would try to have at least 20k health with food buffs for a dungeon/trial non-tank role so you don't get 1 shot. Once your health is good go into magicka. If you plan to PvP then after your desired health, allocate some for stamina and then finally dump the rest in magicka.

In PvP you will use stamina to roll out of roots, block and breakfree a lot so you need a healthy amount of stamina for that. There is no set number but 13k has been good for me so far as a light armor magicka build. If you are not going to tank, or PvP just leave it empty.

You can really compensate for any attribute skew through armor glyphs but it seems easier to me to skew your attributes hard on health then compensate for your roles through armor glyphs.

Put all your points into Magika.

Just to give you a little more info, its only a little over +100 points to the pool for each point spent.

If your going for a magika build just dump all your points into that.

I am High Elf. Is it really possible to put no points in health or stamina? ... just gear for health or something?
