Blocking Ultimate Generation

Apparntly since 1.6 block can stop alot of status effects from happening to your character but recently I found something crazy which makes it really hard to kill perma blockers.

If you block a light attack it wont proc ult generation which means you dont get ultimate from light attacks verse a perma blocker which is a main source to generate ultimate.

Do you think this is a bug? or not?

This seems to be the main reason they can take so much more damage since people cannot use their ultimate.

If blocking a light attack generates ultimate for the blocker, it also should for the attacker.

I wouldn't change that in particular. If a strike doesn't go through because the target blocked, I think it makes sense not to reward ultimate to the attacker.

That said, it's easy to perma-block and it creates an imbalance. I would change ultimate generation to proc off any damage done to enemies, whether by light/heavy attacking or by using skills. Plus, it would be nice not to have to do light/heavy attacks to get ultimate if your particular rotation doesn't call for them.

Isnt Ultimate Points supposed to be awarded for a successful attack? So if someone blocks your attack, you shouldnt receive ultimate points for that failure? It would seem like a backwards mechanic if you earned Ultimate regardless of success of attack.

I understand why they added ulti generation for blocking but it made the system really unfair. It is rewarding block casting vs builds where you need to actually put in the effort to trigger ultimate gain. Would be much better if all get the same flat amount of ulti gain during combat, regardless what you do.

For the OP issue it seems like a bug.

A blocked attack is a successful attack. It deals damage, both to enemy hitpoints and to enemy stamina.

    Patch notes:

"Adjusted how Ultimate generation is gained to make it more even across different classes and builds:

When you damage an enemy with a light or heavy attack, you will receive a buff that grants three Ultimate per second for eight seconds.
This buff is refreshed with each light or heavy attack."

It should be fixed. Permablocking is strong enough on its own. It doesn't need to negate the attacker's ability to generate ult as well.

We get ultimate from casting light and heavy attacks on an opponent. A light attack was cast on an opponent, it hit, it did damage, so we should receive ultimate. Blocking should not negate another persons only true ability to gain ultimate.

Just so everyone knows, The blocker DOES GET ULTIMATE but you do not.

Honestly if the blocker wasnt getting ultimate I wouldnt care but since he is I think its only fair that we also get ultimate

    like @Sharee said.
