Argonian such and such

Played Argonian in the last games because of awesomeness, but a friend said they suck in ESO, that they have no real benefits, is there anything I can do to make the race worth it, like make it a Nightblade or Dragonknight, and if so how should I go down that career?

Argonians do suck in terms of racials but in practice the difference isn't big enough to cause problems. You might not be quite as strong as an Imperial or Dunmer but you can still hold your own.

Plus buffs are coming in the next content update so stay tuned, I guess.

This is the truth. Bottom line: as someone who has played this game heavily since the PC launch, I can safely say that what matters most is your own skill and how much thought you put into your gear, attribute point, champion constellation, and ability combinations. Like I always say, some races make certain builds easier to play, which just means that playing a "non-mix/max race" makes your gear, attribute, etc choices more important, and not that such a build would be "gimped."

Argonians used to have a great synergy with Nightblades because they had a share passive that in total boosted potion effectiveness by 45%... but that is gone now. With the buffs to healing and replenish on potion use, Argonians make great tanks and can fulfill any class/role. I've been playing an Argonian NB tank since launch and consistently get praise for my build and playstyle.
