Breakdown of the best builds for the latest patch?

Hello everyone!
I am new to the game, and have tried to do as much research into builds as possible before starting out on making my characters. I have looked around online elsewhere before coming here as I know there are resources all over, but nothing I have found is up to date or well organized. Does anyone know of a website or link to a guide for the top builds in each class? Or, if someone would like to take it a step further, could a breakdown be provided here of the best builds for each class? I'm speaking in terms of PvE/PvP capable characters that have a high DPS output, or simply whatever you'd recommend for each (I.e. Is it better to tank on a Templar?). Again, being a new player, I'd greatly appreciate any advice as I have limited knowledge on building in general. This is the first MMO I am getting serious about.

Just dive in. That's my recommendation. There are Hundreds of skill points. Right now on most of my toons, I have the ability to tank, heal or dps at any point depending on which skills I slot. I have an abundance of skill points and I am able to craft. It's not your typical MMO. Don't worry about builds so much as what you enjoy. If you are trying to Min/max.... just focus on specializing on one thing. You won't be that competitive as a min/maxer until you have a few hundred CP anyway though.

Thanks a bunch, I just want to be prepared for PvP when the time comes and am having a tough time choosing which alliance would be best for my ambitions, as well as which class will be the toughest to beat and then builds, etc. I think what's important right now is learning as much about the game as possible, as there is so much to take in.

Pretty much every class can be good IMO. If you want to be safe, make a dragon knight.

Alright. I have a Dark Elf Dragonknight, I'm just trying to decide if I want it to be a Tank or DPS, and which weapons to use and whether to build Stamina or Magicka. So far, I've been using a 1H and Shield combo, but I've heard it's better to go 2H for Stamina and have a bow for long range combat? Maybe I'll fix things later on and switch to a Magicka build with Destruction staff and Restoration staff for combat before hitting the Veteran ranks.

Will do right away then. I'll have to go to Stormhaven and reset my skills so I can build Magicka, and I'll YouTube some builds for 1.6. Glad I picked the Dark Elf. Thanks again, I appreciate the feedback.
