Redguard Spellsword/Battlemage Question?

Hey guys, I'm a bit of a newbie at ESO but I have my mind set on playing a Redguard Spellsword/Battlemage. I know there is a difference between the two but basically I want to do melee damage with a splash of magic. I chose Sorcerer as my class because I though Storm Calling sounded pretty cool. My question is should I go 'sword and board' or dual weild?

✭✭✭✭✭If what you're looking to do is dole out damage, dual wield is far better for it than sword & board. Sword & shield is a skill line that's primarily about tanking rather than causing damage, while dual wield is all about melee damage.

✭✭✭Ok, I was just wondering because the Redguard get a bonus for using a Sword and Shield.
No they do not. They only get a bonus on how fast the skill line levels up.For all races the first passive is irrelevant once you leveled up that skill line.
