New Player- Need Some Help/Advice

Hello all, and thank you for taking the time to read my post. So I loved the hell out of Skyrim and so naturally I NEEDED ESO. I currently have it for my PS4 and am completely over whelmed by all the build paths, classes, factions, etc.

So I come here today looking for both help and advice.

1) Are there any guides/tutorials out there for brand new players? Guides that cover basics and how the game is organized. I'm quite confused on the whole thing.

2) I currently have a Red Guard Tank/dps DK going, but not sure if that's even viable. My play style is being a tank but also bring dps to a fight. What class, race, etc. fit my description?

1) Why yes, there are! In fact, there's a section for player guides here on the forums which will include some along the lines you're looking for (as well as some geared towards more experienced players), but here are a couple that I personally wish had been around when I was a brand new player:

2) Redguard Tank/DPS Dragonknight? If you build it right, that can be totally viable. To tank you're going to want to use one-handed and shield for sure. That weapon skill line has one of only 2 taunts in the game (and I consider it the better of the 2), and it's the first skill available in the skill line. That's not the best skill line for DPS, but you can get good DPS using DK class skills, or when you hit level 15 and unlock weapon swapping you can go with a two-handed weapon on your second skill bar, and use that bar for your DPS. Either way, I'd suggest you focus on Stamina and Health rather than putting much (if anything) into Magicka, and a Redguard is an excellent choice for a Stamina build. I think you're on the right path.

There are a few good options. The best is probably Imperial, but unless you've got the Imperial edition, or unless you spend Crowns to unlock it, you won't have access to the Imperial race. Second best is probably a tie between Redguard and Nord. Of course, those are assuming you'll be going stamina-heavy (which is always useful for a tank) and using primarily stamina skills when DPSing. If you plan on using more magicka then a different race may be better.
