NB magicka build vs dual wield or bow

I am lvl 12 with a NB full magicka with a resto staff, and i found it extremely difficult to die... restoration and health funnel keeps me alive in all fights, including world bosses and large groups... and the dmg power is very high, since many strong class skills are magicka scaling.

My question is... if i want to change to a dual daggers rogue style new character... i am afraid i will not have the survivability and even fire power as the magicka resto NB... so, it is worth? how do i survive in close range without strong heals? Blood craze have good amount of heals? (forget 2H brawler/rally, a dont want that)

I forgot to mention that i heard someone saying that dual wield have more survivability than archer... hows that?

you are to low level to worry about survivability. The skills you use at your current level are probably not the skills you will use later. Try different things, you have a lot of leveling left.

    Leveling with either is easy.

For magicka, Go destro staff for DPS at range and AoE. Then other bar can have NB skills. Swallow soul is a pretty decent heal too.

For stam, I think either Bow + 2H or DW + 2H is easy to level. 2H gives access to a heal and shield.. so that makes leveling easy. DW has the best AoE in the game, but for most areas you can kill 1-2 enemies with the bow before a group of 3 reaches you.. so either is good.

End game.. Magicka NB is kinda hard to play, but Sap Tanks done right (that's the last ability in Siphoning line) can be really good.

But.. end game and PvP most NB are running Stamina since 1.6 update because DPS.

AoE. Steel Tornado is really powerful.

2-Hander has the most survivability though.

Interesting as I could never do any real damage with a Resto Staff...Might have to try that again.

As for NB and Heals. Sorry to say that the best heals come from either the Resto Staff or Magick focused Siphoning Skills. With DW, there is a skill Morph called Siphoning Strikes that is supposed to provide healing on each hit. It does not work well for me, so I don't use it, but others swear by it. Honestly I get my heals from a 2H skill.

Thing is, to make DW effective, you have to focus on Stamina, and once you do that, you can kiss healing from Siphoning skills bye bye. Stamina based Siphoning sucks.

NB's are all about tactics, sneaking around, using your skills to get in, do the damage, crowd control to get away to set for the next hit. It takes time and practice to make the most of the class. But, once you do, they do some insane burst damage. It is one of the hardest classes to master in the game. Also, the really good skills like Fear and Shades and Reapers Mark don't unlock until later levels. But, once you get it right, your powerful and deadly.

My NB is the only character I have as a Stamina based character. But I would burn down opponents before they could kill me more so than try to outlast them by healing. I also found success when he was magic focused with a Destro Staff. But, now he uses 2H and Bow with a Stamina Focus.

All skills scale from Stamina/Weapon Damage or Magic/Spell Damage, so you need to put all or most of your attributes into the appropriate place. Health you can put some points into , but you will be less deadly the more you put into health. See burn them down before they kill me above.

Good thing, during the 1-50 leveling, almost anything works, so level all the skills. In fact, you should have a skill from each class line on your bar at all times, and one weapon skill at least, if not two or a weapon and support skill (such as Inner Light from the Mages). You should also wear a mix of armor so that you have at least one Light, one Medium and one Heavy Piece on at all times. If your Magic Focused, that means 5 Light/1 Medium/1Heavy for best results. If you can find the Training Trait on the off armors, that helps to level them. This way you can change out armors end game and not have to grind the skill up. Armor skills suck to grind up.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.
