Templar or Dragon-Knight Thank

NpcOnStrike
i play nb love it so far, only problem (squishy as Fu** :(:( )
Thinking of making TANK full heavy armor so could solo world bosses and dungeon bosses :D ( i solo most of theme with my NB (i'm lvl 38 and i solo lvl 40-42 bosses) ) its easy to solo male ones and if i can CC theme :d mage ones 3 shot me :D:D

So i was just wondering witch would be better for solo play ( world bosses-dungeons) Templar or DK

Thank you

NB squishy? Ever seen a NB tank?

I tank v12 dungeons easily with my v3 NB. I have a NB tank in the guild having no problem tanking SO or any content in the game. It just do take a little bit more practice and damage output is much less than a Templar and DK, that I gotta admit. But if you do well, endless resources.

For solo play between Templar and DK, I would personally choose DK since it has great AoE and very good dps as well as survivability. But a Templar heals and support is better eventually, but damage output is pretty decent still. It's perfectly possible with both, just choose which one you like the most. I do think for what you want to do it'll have to be one of those two.

the easiest class to solo with, for me, was templar. in solo play, my templar is unkillable. i have to actually try to die.

however, my current v3 NB kills things faster than any other char i've leveled. i've built her with all points in stamina and my focus was to use her for DPS. however, i also tank with her and am equally effective. just need the right gear, right skills and right mindset.

I agree with @TheSunAlsoRises, I love Templars, I have one EP and one DC and will make a AD. I'm just saying on the PVE side, I don't PVP much so I can't say anything on that side.

Against a single boss, world boss or in a group dungeon, both DKs and Templars will have similar survivability. Both can burst heal themselves, both have armor/spell resist buffs, both have skills and passives that reduce incoming damage.

Against a mob, for example a Craglorn sized 8-10 man one, Templars tend to edge out DKs. There are 3 main reasons for this:

Blazing Shield - health based damage shield that increases in strength by 4% for each enemy nearby
Empowering Sweep - extremely cheap ultimate that reduces damage by 15% plus an extra 4% for each enemy hit
Repentance - a free to cast skill that restores health and stamina

You can do the math easily enough, but Empowering Sweep, hitting 5 enemies, for example, will all on its own reduce damage by 35%. Blazing Shield, with 30k health as a tank, gives you a 10k bubble, plus 4% for each of those 5 enemies, is a 12k total bubble that explodes and returns 6-8k back in damage. Repentance the dead when they die.

^ As @Likewow777 said Templar is good. However DK's aoe CC and self sustain via Battle Roar passive is also good.

Yeah, definitely. I use Battle Roar as a semi heal, if needed, rather than GDB simply because I keep GDB on a back bar, but ultimates are available on both bars, and do damage.
