Again the "1 Rat" has trolled me

I created a new build for one of my characters, now she's using both a two-hander and sword and board.

Both of these skill lines include a skill which let your character move fast forward towards the enemy to attack them (Shield Charge/morph for sword and board, and Critical Rush/morph for the two-hander).

What happened to me yesterday was not that I just hit a rat with a spell like I did before, but now I even MOVE there to kill them unwillingly when I'm using said skills.

As annoying as it is since it costs valuable stamina, it was almost funny when this happened.. I lost orientation for a second since I didn't expect to suddenly stand somewhere I didn't plan to, then I hit the wrong button (one of these skills) and AGAIN I hit a rat, and I ended up in a totally different corridor in that Ayleid Ruin, away from the room full of enemies.. *alternating looking left and right*.. "Where the hell are they?" lol

I mean, theoretically it CAN be helpful in order to escape, but since we cannot even see the rats (or barely/rarely), it cannot be planned. So these rats are just a stamina/magicka/time/patience killer.

I know this issue was discussed before, I just wanted to point out once more that this is still an issue and should be looked into. Just make the critters in dungeons untargetable, problem solved.

You can turn on permanent health bars on enemies and friendlies. That will show any rats that are hiding close to mobs.

I can understand, although unintentionally killing rats had never been an issue for me. I don't turn on healthbars all the time, and.. hmm, off. I guess I may take it a bit slower than you to ensure my targeting the correct mob before starting off my battle? Not sure.

Where would I get my guts for fishing then? Hopefully a middle ground can be met :)

    ESO targeting logic:

    * If there is a rat/rabbit/hamster/etc. within 40 yards of what you are attacking, and it is within 90 degrees of the angle you are facing, completely ignore what is right in front of your face and send your spells/attacks to that.
    * If there is a dead body within 40 yards of what you are attacking, and it is within 90 degrees of the angle you are facing, completely ignore the previous "fuzzy targeting principle" and refuse to fire any spells or abilities unless you manage to tab-target lock an enemy.

Both have been a problem since launch over a year ago, with multiple threads on the problem, and ZOS completely refuses to acknowledge let alone do anything about it.

It was mildly amusing the first time. The next 500,000 times have just been annoyance at getting ZOS trolled.

This is why I have ZERO confidence in ZOS's ability to fix anything. They ignore, deny, and then say working as intended all the while the same bug still exists....it's aweful. How about having your action bar unusable in combat due to a bug and it lasts 45 seconds during a boss fight and your the tank? Sounds almost gamebreaking if it happened more often. As it is, it "only" happens to me about once every hour of gameplay. Same setup as OP, 2h/sb dk.

    ^This.
This is exactly what I meant. There's no way to avoid hitting them, if there're health bars (as suggested) or trying to target more precisely (as suggested as well), this doesn't work, that's just not doable.
Thanks for the posting and video :)

That's not the point. In areas where combat is going on, rats have nothing to do. All they do is making the casted spells and used skills worthless.
You can get guts everywhere in the wilds where no enemies are around in a mile radius.

Oh, so that's why the action bar is "blocked", I wasn't aware what causes this. I'm only getting this with my 2 Templars that they just stand there and can observe their own deaths, not with any other class, but could be a coincidence. The critter issue happens with ALL classes, though.

Yeah, I don't have any confidence anymore either.. there are things that could have easily been fixed already (such as the critter issue), but still aren't. And now they're called a "feature" instead, of what I've heard.. that's laughable, really.

Clearly too heated about the issue to detect obvious sarcasm. Sorry man, I was just trying to make light of an annoying issue.

Haha, I have to apologize.. usually I'm one of the first who spots some nice sarcasm^^ Happens to me pretty often as well when I'm being sarcastic or putting things in a funny way, but I get a serious reply to it.. So yeah, I guess I was too heated to see it, too ;)
