sword and board yes the main thing i look for is survivability .

I don't generally use my tank spec for solo pve, but it does work when I do. It's just slow....

Now, I am using top spec gear like footmans and engine guardian on my tank build, but they are not necessary for a good build. If you can get whitestrakes retribution and/or hist bark crafted sets, they would serve you well. You wouldn't need to worry to much about the hist 5 piece as you can use mirage. You may also want to consider seducer armor as a good amount of survivability will come from magic skills....

If you are going for a heavy armor build, you will miss out on the regeneration passives from the other armors. Luckily you have siphoning strikes for regeneration.

The things I would recommend on your bar are;
*Swallow soul
*Sap essence
*siphoning attacks
*defensive posture
*heroic slash
*path of darkness (refreshing path. This is your armor buff.)
*shield charge
*Mark target or pierce (debuff)
*Mirage

Set up your bars in a way comfortable to you. This won't kill fast, but it has survivability.

Oh, and veil of blades for damage and mitigation solo, and or soul tether for stun and heal, for your ultimates.

Yea, didn't know your level, so I provided stuff to build towards. 2h still has brawler as the first skill. Pretty sustainable

I reccomend 5 piece Heavy and 2 Piece Medium with a 2Hand utility bar for heals, buffs, and damage shield, and swapping back to sword and board.

2 hand - mark target, buf for damage and heal over time, ambush in, hit targets to get your damage shield going, then swap bars. With sword and board use surprise attack as your main spam attack for increased armor and spell resist, swap back to execute an early heal and reapply damage buff, then swap back and spam surprise attack until you finish with killers blade.

If you take the right morphs with assassins blade and mark target, when you kill a mob with killers blade and who is marked, 90+% heal in addition to your heal over time from 2 hand.
