Greetings everyone !
Today i will share with you one of the most hilarious finds i have made in ESO mechanics.
Most of you should be familiar with "Ball of Lightning (BoL)" the defensive morph of "Bolt Escape" mostly as an annoying spellsoaking sponge.
However some finds let me to believe that BoL is actually way more than a particle effect.
1st BoL can be healed (the beam thingy) and attacked by NPCs -> the Ball is an actuall character in the world.
2nd BoL seems to be affected by "Hardened Ward", which is supposed to only shield the caster and his summoned creatures. I found that out by observing that attacking (with AoEs or projectile Spells) BoL sometimes will display DMG dealt via FTC and sometimes not. the "not" instances being after the caster of the BoL had used ward while the BoL was active. -> BoL is a sorcerer "summoned creature"
Hoever BoL disappearing doesnt trigger the "rebate" passive so that theory is not sure.
This led me to test if BoL would actually trigger the "necropotence" set, which as a 5 piece bonus increases your max magicka by 10% while a pet is active.
Surprise surprise BoL actually does !
This is my character with Necropotence on and no BoL active.(these are not my combat stats !)
This is my character with the exact same setup but several BoLs active. As you can see my magicka is in fact increased by the ~10%.
If you want to test this for yourself keep in mind that necropotence takes a while till it actually takes effect but also takes a while till its effect ends, even after the summoned creature is killed/ unsummoned/ whatever .
I hope I maybe made some of you laugh at this hilarious mechanic in ESO that is probably only a byproduct of the way the ability functions, which however makes it in no way less funny (in my opinion)
Tell me what you think ! (apart from thinking about Cookies like the all do)
