Theorycrafting a magicka templar tank

So, because I want to be able to fill all 3 roles relatively competently in a dungeon I am working on designing a magicka based tank. My main goal is to be able to heal and I feel I do that relatively well, but I think I could also tank with out having to respec. Here is what I've got so far:

So far I am at VR5 and have 40 attribute points in magicka and 13 in health. Of course I have 0 in stamina.

My primary bar will be:
1) Puncturing sweep (aedric spear tree)
2) Inner Rage (undaunted tree)
3) Structured Entropy (mages guild tree)
4) Channeled Focus (Restoring Light tree)
5) Explosive Charge (aedric spear tree)

Puncturing sweep will be my go to spam ability when I am tanking anything. Inner rage I'd be using as a taunt. Structured entropy is more for its passive than anything, but the boost to spell damage is really nice too. Channeled Focus is for the armor boost and magicka regain. Explosive charge is for battlefield mobility.

This leaves 100% of my stamina available for blocking and none of it would be used for abilities.

Now for gear I was thinking 5/5 Spectre's Eye and 4/5 (including weapon and shield) Shalidor's Curse. Extra armor on all armor pieces as trait and +health for armor enchants. For weapon trait I'd use the one that further increases armor and spell resist (defending I think it's called?).

For jewlery I have no idea what I'd go for, but I'd want the "reduce cost of blocking" enchant and probably +stam trait. I am not too familiar with jewlery sets, so I stuck with things that are pretty easily obtained.

Let me know what you think. Will it work? Am I completely crazy for even trying?

    I won't say you're completely crazy ;)
but, imho, if you want to do PVE endgame content eventually, you will have (a lot of) difficulties.
you will either lack DPS, lack survivability or lack heals. Or a combination from 2 of these 3 roles.

You'll be better of picking one role and fully focus on it.

    With that said..
If you will go PVP or just want to do solo things, feel free to try and explore anything you want.
There are many ways to do that.

For tanking, holding block is the primary means of defense. Spamming Puncturing Sweeps will not let you do that as it is a channeled ability.

I've tested it, you can interrupt Puncturing sweep with a block. So just use it and if you need to block in the middle of it's channel you can and still get a hit or two off.

you need both bars 4 tanking
one for take first aggro from crowds
    the other for tanking bosses

Yor primary bar is not good for any purpose

    Try such build
    bar 1
    1) Solar barrage
    2) Absorb magic (for passive)
    3)Channeled Focus
    4)Explosive Charge
    5)Blazing shield

    bar 2
    1)Vampire's Bane
    2)Purifying Light
    3)Inner Rage
    4)Structured Entropy or jesus beam*
    5)Breath of Life

*jesus beam is good finisher and you can help DD a lot but its channel so you can be oneshoted by some bosses if you have you shield down so use it on your own risk.

And you really need to invest more points to health

To answer your question, no, you aren't completely crazy for trying. That said, a single bar and/or only one armor setup isn't going to work, in my opinion. I have a Templar tank/healer (not DPS, I've got other chars for that), but to achieve that duality, I swap everything. Armor, skill bars, jewelry, weapons, all of it. I can post what I use, if you'd like, but in general I think it'll be tough without that kind of swapping. At least, it'll be tough to be competitive.
