Does the valkyn skoria set visual discourage anyone else from using it?

I would love to eventually equip the skoria set, but its appearance throws me off. As a templar I don't want to be walking around with a flaming head. If I were a DK it would be another story.

Anyone else feel similarly?

    Agreed.

Should be able to change the appearance of the armor using the motifs we have learned. The tech is there with the imperial armor change it would be nice to allow the max crafters to change their armor look using the motifs. It could also be another way to maintain the economy with all the mats flooding the guild markets.

You are wearing a monster helmet previously worn by a powerful Demora. I'd have a bigger problem if it looked aesthetically pleasing.

    Disagree.

Being able to change unique items' appearance reduces its value - whether it's aesthetic or economic or gameplay or whatever.

Being UNIQUE is part of the value acquired by those items.

What economic value? The monster sets are bind on pickup and the cost of style mats is for the most part very low and nothing that the person changing the style wouldn't already have on hand for their other armor pieces.
What functional gameplay value? The set values are still the same.
Aesthetic value? if anything increased because the individual has a choice whether to keep the monstrous look or go for one actually matching their personal preference.

What they ought to do is make the orange bits dye-able. Instead of wearing a 'pumpkin head' as some players call it, you could have green, blue, or purple flames.

By unique you mean every 5 in 3 DKs dps wears the damn set and 3 in 3 of the other classes dps ..Damn even the healers started using it to look cool and heal like crap because they are stuck in their jesus beam animation. :s
The fact that in 1.6 they reduced the viable end game dps sets to about 3 ugly drooped sets makes almost everybody look the same.MK+Skoria how unique. Skin change for everything is necessary to bring back any visual diversity .

Wearing Skoria doesn't make you unique, actually. I'd say quite the opposite. :D

For me it does. Seeing all those Skoria shoulders and helm a mile off just makes me NOT want a set.
