Can defense (tanking) ever be equal to burst damage ( DPS,shield stacking, dodge roll)

soryy but once again thats not true, you can do dmg quite nice if you are using your class magica attacks regardless if you are DK, temp or Nb while using a heavy tank setup(iam using 5x arena+5x warlock +2 engine guardian and have absolutly no ressource problems). sure not as much a med or light armor user is generating but it is more than enough to kill anything that is not trying to escape but actually fights you.

I don't think you will ever be able to break sorc shields with that regen build. Since killing sorcs in a reasonable amount of time is the measurement for a build to tell if it is good enough or not for solo roaming.

I use stamina version of it currently for my solo actions and have tried with magicka before. In general it is ok, but against good players it isn't working. You are lacking. And that heavy plate alone is not enough to protect you since everyone is built around penetration with extreme magicka/stamina, so you still have to rely on your shields to survive.
Then what's the point of wearing heavy armor? I'm still seeing 10k wrecking blows, soul harvests, fragments or magicka detonation in my death recap with heavy. There is no point to have such high armor and resist against someone who knows how to play.

We are not playing the same game I guess. Or you just talking according to your killing sprees vs noobs. It is working in there I won't deny. Good luck when you take 2 good players bashing your head. It will be much easier with just shield stacking in light and an escape.

I fully agree with you Soris.

No point in wearing Heavy Armor in PVP with current design.
It is Sub Sub par :
    • Worst DPS (by far)
    • Worst Sustain (by far)
    • and even.... Worst mitigation since active mitigation > passive mitigation.
Without regen, less shields, less survival, less blinks, less stamina to roll dodge attacks, and if you are full melee, it is a nightmare in Cyrodil.

A nightmare... or what is closer to my thought a complete PVP design disaster sacrificing DPS, Sustain and survivability for what, more healing received ?

TESO is currently a PVP caster/range game for light and medium armor. Melee PVP in Heavy Armor is completely ignored, overlooked or dealed with by non competent designer, or that designer is just ignored by his management.

I have predicted the current situation in many previous posts and two threads on Heavy Armor and I also predict that the absence of competent melee PVP design (Heavy armor and melee weapon design) will kill cyrodil by boredom of only pew-pew versus pew-pew casts.

No world-class melee PVPer with decision capabilities in the abilities design team for sure.

Heavy Armor is a Human Resource Management problem.

Someone is not at the right place.
