can dks use a damage staff and a 2h weapon?

Ive played with this idea since launch. Is it just not viable?

With weapon swap anything is possible. I'm sure there are builds out there with both.

Unfortunately, with the recent changes in 1.6, hybrid builds became basically worthless.
There will always be some players telling you that hybrids are still viable, but they aren't

indeed.

what if i dropped all stamina points and went with a magika build? atm i only have 2 stam abilities slotted.

or, by hybrid, do you mean 2h/staff combinations aren't viable either?

I'm a dk myself and I'm running full magicka atm.

As far as I know, 2h/staff isn't really viable atm indeed.
It's either full on magicka or full on stamina.
But in the end, it's really up to you.
If you wanna play a hybrid, I think you should play a hybrid as long as you have fun.

And maybe prove me wrong by setting up an awesome hybrid build!

Tell you what:

Use critical rush as a gap closer, which will give you a critical strike regardless of magicka or Stamina build. Then use Rally, inferno, inhale, dark talons. Switch your weapons and use destro staff as your main damage dealing bar. Use utility skills from the 2 hander and your main damage source from magicka. Stamina will be used as your support resource, rather than your main resource so you dont even have to put in points into it.

Think out of the box. Hell I would even use carve to augment my ultimate generation and use standard every other fight which will keep me alive better than any rally would. Spam impulse, inhale and dark talons. A melee magicka user that has amazing ultimate uses.

/Shrug my two cents. Is it viable endgame? Probably with a hell lot of fine tuning and min max. Is it fun? HELL YEAH.

i mean... if i cant play both, i may as well go back to tanking. even though ive been trying to get away from it for 6 years, but that's another story.

using crave is one of my main motivations.

dropping banner every minute or so is... lots of fun.

trying to sustain everything with what is essentially a hybrid build is a lot of challenging.

The "play the way you want too" mentality isn't in TES Online. You are going to gimp yourself pretty fierce by not going one way or the other. Hybrid builds might be fun but they can't stand up in group scenarios.
