Request: Can we have a walk to slow walk to run toggle?

Muzumush

Just like Skyrim; having a walk to slow walk and eventually to run just gives you that much more control and makes the character fell less floaty. I personally use pinnacle game profiler and use a controller and with console release being close it would be nice to have a control option that if the player has a controller or touch sensitive buttons to map the moving they can toggle it on. Obviously for standard keyboard & mouse users this won't be too useful but it's really something that bug me especially when I'm trying to inline myself to interact with an NPC or object and I run past it/them and have to shuffle back and forth... lol

Any plans to get this implemented? Consoles, PC both?

Who can do this task, with but only a handful of brave men with courage in their hearts..."

There is an unbound command to toggle Always Walk/Run. I have a 4 button mouse and have the Walk/Run button bound to one of the side buttons. You could do the same thing with a Key bind too.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I toggle walk/run to f12, I don't use it often but I do use it.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.

Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

Oh I'm aware of the button, I guess I wasn't clear in my request.

I want to be able to tilt the joystick lightly to walk, tilt joystick a little harder to have a fast walk and than a full press forward to go into run.

As things are now it doesn't matter what pressure I put on the joystick I automatically run. Which is annoying and even more so to press a button to toggle turtle walk -> auto run. It doesn't feel natural for me...

The toggle option I was referring to is an added menu option to have "auto run" ON or OFF. when ON it acts as it does now when OFF (if you have a controller or joystick etc.) it flows from a natural slow walk to a fast walk to a run (Play Skyrim for a second with a controller and you'll see what I mean).

I'm sure not all would like this as standard especially PVP, but for PVE and exploration it would be just nice to have so I don't feel so floaty all the time lol

I would actually like a "slow walk" option. Something even slower than regular walk. Especially when I'm on my mount. If I just want to turn a little bit so I can check out a guild mates new armor or something, it's a lot more of a challenge than it should be. Most of the time my character shoots right past where I'm trying to go.

This might also be useful for pickpocketing...err...if I were to partake in such a shady activity!

not possible.u can do only one of the two : run, or slow walk. but make sure to bind it ,i also use pinnacle and wireless xbox360 controller, i bound walk/run to left stick press, it's the easiest way.

Thanks I'll try your method, but what do you mean by "not possible" I'm sure the devs can program that into the game. Especially with consoles release it makes sense

Sometime after console release is going to be controller support for PC. I imagine what your asking is going to be a feature, since it's a feature in most controller games. Tilt the stick just a bit and and they'll walk, all the way and run.

So, there's probably no need for toggle. Because asking for a toggle implies it would somehow be functional in a keyboard and mouse set up.

I have a feeling it is a limitation with the hero engine and interaction with devices such as joystick control. The only way I see it is by having 2 toggles, one for upto or less than half of the joystick pushed YES (enable Walk) or NO and one for more than half of the joystick YES (enable Run) or NO but again not sure if that interaction is there. Again I could be completely wrong and ZOS just did not think about it or didnt feel it worked well etc.

Not sure if this is possible since they removed the animations for mid speeds right?

I would love that. I like to walk sometimes but it is so slow. I wish there was a mid walk.. About the speed of sneaking
