How do I increase my stats to be like the pros?

Hi everyone

I see all these builds online with their VR14 and they show how they kill everyone really easily. It's like wow! These builds are amazing! But then they're like, and these are my stats, check it, and their stats are through the roof, like so high.

Below I have a screenshot of my poor VR10 argonian templar, who doesn't even come close to being half as strong. I know their are a number of differences, he's using player made glyphs, has set bonus on jewelery, purple or gold level gear, he's VR14, food, but I'm not seeing how he's that strong with only those differences.

Below is my character stats with my Templar, rocking green VR8 gear light gear all magicka enchanted (5piece seducers, 2piece torags, 2 piece soulshine), all character points on health

Screenshot_20150510_100032.jpg

And here is Kristofers Darklight Templar. Look at those stats! Look at those recoveries! Look at that weapon damage! Crazy!

Darklight_templar_screenshot.jpg

My question is will I get this good (or comparably) if I hit VR14 and spend my 150k (that I've saved from staying on green gear), if I have purple/gold set gear with purple/gold enchantments, and eat some food?? It just seems like such a big difference.

Thanks for your help guys.

you need to put at least 3/4 of the points you have into health, into either stamina or magicka. right now the game is all about who can put out the most burst. Having a crap ton of health will not help you in the current meta. your armor and spell resistance are low, but it looks like you are going the magicka route, so I assume you are in light armor.

If you are going to go the route of magic, then your spell damage should be a bit higher. it should be close to 1.5kish, 2Kish and over if possible.

that's about all the advice I can give, as I do not have a high level templar. If you ever make a nightblade though, contact me and I can help you a lot more

Thanks for that, my question is more that, if I was now to go for that 1.5-2k spell damage, my magicka and magicka recovery would go right down (yes I am in light, seducers gear).

He has higher health, and awesomely amazing stamina or magicka, AND that weapon damage. How do I do that?

champion points, food/drink, armor/weapon passives, set bonues, enchants, and anything else I have forgotten to list.

I do not know the exact details, can you contact this player and ask them?

It's all about champion points, and macro's, which macro's are [snip] but most of the elitist use them even if they try and say they don't. I perf stam build on my templar but I play magicka cause its more group friendly.

I had 2900 dmg base on my templar over 3k with rally and 2100 stam regen when I was stam build. Only thing that's sucks about a stam build templar is survivability untill you get high enough in PvP for Vigor. But Vigor is a OP heal for every stam build tho.

Claiming ppl who beat you use macros is simply revealing of ignorance 99% of the time. Trying to use macros in this game, outside of specific opening stealth rotations where you are always looking to do the exact same thing, would simply be stupid. In every other situation you need to be able to react to circumstances, that is the exact opposite of what a macro will do for you.

Well the video I have the screenshot of goes over the build ("Darklight Templar" on youtube if anyone is interested) and what set bonuses he uses. I'm just astounded at the huge difference in stats and wanted help it explained to me. But I guess if I hit VR14 and
    • Use player made glyph
    • Upgrade my gear to purple/gold
    • Get set bonuses on my jewelery
    • Food
    • Get more champion points

I will end up being as strong or close to as strong as he is. The only reason I was confused is that doesn't seem to be able to make up the difference. I'll just have to get there and try I guess.

Any other suggestions on how to improve?

Exactly....Get to v14, then get v14 endgame gear, have the blue v10 food and 150+ CPs. Put the right skills on your bar to synergize with your classes passives (i'm sorry but you're an argonian-worst passives for min/maxing) Your stats will be much higher. Each CP adds ~15-20 pts to which ever max stat your putting points into.

Argonian bad. Also; getting your gear to VR14 and at least to purple; hopefully gold with glyphs will help. it's why I am out of the mix for so long as I am watching a lot of guys like you are there and really tweaking my build, now broke but finally nailing it down to where I can really invest in getting my gear as upgraded as possible.

Also; macros are no good in PvP. Everything is unpredictable and lag will make it impossible to set a delay to fire the next attack without making yourself slow on the smooth moments.

I'd like to know how exactly you think macros have anything to do with a character's stats... How are macros being used to increase health, stamina, magicka, regeneration, spell power, and weapon power?

Haha, yeah. I've stayed out of the Macro debate here, I'm fine with my gameplay, I'd just like to get my stats up cause then I'd kick some ass, cause the fact is, a LOT of regular players don't know how to pimp their character. I just to be sure that I can get there.

I just thought where I'd be as a VR10 with bad gear wouldn't be as far from a VR14 with a PIMPed build as it is. The difference doesn't seem to add-up, but obviously it does and when I get those final 4 levels and get good gear I'll be close to that character anyway.
