Best CLASS to be a duel-welder + bow??

Hello people,

I've just reached level 32 with my Night Blade and really think I've made a mistake with this one.
The closest to what I wanted skill-wise is the Assasin's and really don't like the skills at all :(

Thanks!

The learning curve on Nightblade is a little higher than other classes IMO because they lack a good damage shield or self-heal.

You can easily solve this by using 2-Hander. But DW + Bow is a bit harder because those lines lack shields or heals... I would suggest swapping Dual Wield for 2-hander while leveling.. or even go 2-hander DW.

To make things much easier for leveling, I suggest picking up 2-Hander tree. Cleave is the first ability you get and will morph to Brawler which gives a damage shield that scales on number of enemies hit. It pretty much makes leveling easy mode. The last skill in the tree is a self-heal that also provides a damage boost.

    Also, a couple of tips:

Certain skills get big damage bonuses when attacking from stealth. This includes Ambush and Surprise attack. But also the Bow skill Snipe.

For groups of enemies, starting off with a Bombard (bow skill Arrow Spray morph) is a good starter as it does good damage and snares.

For AoE on DW, use Steel Tornado. The range for that morph is much better than the stam regen for the other morph.

Rending slashes in DW (first skill morph) can provide a self HoT, but it only procs on the bleed and is unreliable because the HoT stops if the mob dies or if the mob is immune (like undead) it won't proc at all.

Also, most NB skills are magicka based, while weapon lines are stamina based. So the more magicka + spell power, the more more your NB skills hits for, more stamina + weapon power means more damage from weapon lines. The exception is NB skills that morph to use stamina instead of magicka, when you morph them into stamina then they work like weapon skills.

So my final suggestion is if you are going weapon lines (as opposed to staffs) then stack Stamina and Weapon power and use the Stamina morphs. It's still okay to have a few magicka skills though so that you use that pool efficiently.

I think NB is the best class for a DW/Bow's assassin. My main and only toon is a NB. I picked a NB hoping to turn him into something similar to my SWTOR Scoundrel Healer, which was a very mobile and hard to kill healer. However, I noticed that NB is at his best when killing stuff not healing. Some people will tell you otherwise but it cannot compare with the Templar's healing capabilities. Thus, if you want to play an assassin type character with DW and bow, NB is IMO the best class for the job.

No, you're playing the right class. I wouldn't want to play any other class as an archer.

Have you unlocked mark yet? Reaper's Mark makes the build, that's your main heal, debuff and buff as an archer.

As DW you need to focus on mobility and escapes. 2H will just annihilate stuff with brawler and rally if you want to face tank sometimes. The only DW skills I slot are steel tornado and flying blade, the stamina class skills are better and DW is the strongest way to use them because you have more weapon power as DW.

You probably need to level stuff up a bit more to get the morphs you need, all the stamina morphs are pretty key to what you're trying to do.

    Um, Nightblade?

Ambush - Gap closer for Dual Wield
Drain Power - Grants Major Brutality, eliminating the need to use a 2Hander for Momentum.
Relentless Focus - Stamina Regen, Damage Buff, and after awhile a free ranged attack.
Various stuns and immobilizes for bonus dual wield damage.
Hidden Blade / Surprise Attack - Stamina damage dealers with utility benefits.
Cloak - Guarantees next hit is a critical hit, lets you effectively hide as an archer.

go bow/2H so you have access to a good self heal. slot the stamina version of veiled strike, and use it instead of wrecking blow. use the gap closer in 2H to get in melee range, and use bow for ganking/ long range combat when melee combat is not plausible

I have the following setup on my main bar: Brawler, wrecking blow, ambush, forward momentum and evil hunter and my ultimate is flawless dawnbreaker and I can solo WBs and dolmens. On my second bar I have: draining shot, focused aim, dark cloak, reaper's mark and evil hunter and my ultimate is shooting star.

I was using DW but two-handed just does way more damage and the damage shield you get from brawler is great. That's just my two cents worth.

bow + 2h if nightblade. in vet content open up on groups with scorching earth>bombarb>crit charge>brawler. all dead. faster than the old crit surge + impulse on my sorc, and always end fight full health/magicka/stamina because of siphoning strikes. and no need to hose around with stealthing.

the damage buff is not the sole draw to momentum.

brawler + rally heal usually enough for most things. toss in refreshing path if you need a bit more.
