Questions about PVP gear

I am about to ding v14 and will be putting together a gear set for PVP (new to me). My main is a magicka based NB. I have surfed around to some information about PVP builds, but most of them are either pre 1.6 magicka or post 1.6 stamina based. I thought I would ask a few questions about gear (since buying it/crafting high quality items can get a bit expensive).

I am planning on going either 5 Lt/2 Hvy or 5 Hvy/2 Lt. Any thoughts on that choice?
For the crafted gear is it more valuable in PVP to use impenetrable, infused/mundus, or reinforced?
For my mundus stone + enchantment combination what is a reasonable goal/target for HP and Magicka?

Based on things I have read it seems that nirnhoned is best for weapons if you can afford it and sharpened if not. If you are using DW do you get additional value from making both swords nirnhoned?

If anyone has suggestions for starting skills (forum or build link) that would be grand. I am planning on DW for DPS bar (all class magicka abilities) and Restro for sustain/off bar. Since the skills don't require as much of a gold investment I figure I will play around a bit to try to find a build that works for me. My concern is that I can dump a ton of gold into a v14 gear set and hope not to do that and discover what I thought would work is actually junk.

Thank you in advance for any help you can offer.
Best wishes.

Until they fix it, nirnhorned is by far the best trait for crafted gear used in PvP. And it's expensive so you kinda wanna figure out your exact setup before you drop all that gold into it. (and also it will surely be nerfed in a couple months)

You might want to consider using all three armors to get the bonus from Undaunted Mettle (if you have it or are close to getting it)

More testing against players is needed as far as nirn vs. sharpened on weapon, but I'm not sure if it's worth it unless you have gold to burn. Against players who stack a ton of nirnhorned on their armor it might be worth it, but I'm not so sure (and that is by no means every player)

Nirn is not expensive, it's free. Turn on keen eye for ore, cloth and wood then go to upper craglorn and farm. Also helps to have mini map and harvest addon that updates mini map. Should get about 1 fortified an hour a potent every couple hours ballpark. Plus all those raw material you can sell or refine them to get the purples/yellows to keep cost of crafted gear down.

It's free if your time isn't worth anything, I suppose. In those two hours, how much AP could be gained by a competent player in Cyrodiil? AP which could then be sold or used to buy bags for a chance to get items selling for 100-200k.

And one fortified nirncrux an hour is extremely optimistic. Possible, but not the norm for sure.

The superiority of nirnhoned is a surprise to me since with reinforced you get protection from physical attacks (bows/sowrds) and spells, while with nirnhoned you gt protection against spells only. Why is nirnhoned so much better?

Its because of that in 1.5 like 90% of peeps were runing magica builds, nirn was the best. Right now when almost all (except of sorcs) are runing stamina builds its not so obvius. If it goes for a weapon for a magica build nirn is still the best (ive tested it after "fix " of nirn and sharpened). Abut two swords, y traits values are stacking so wielding two onehanded weaps is the same like u were using one twohanded.

I am doing my best, but I am not a native speaker, sorry.

"Difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 9 years. 6 paid expansions. 24 DLCs. 40 game changing updates including A Realm Reborn-tier overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver&Gold as a "you think you do but you don't"-tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game." - @AlexanderDeLarge

Because sorcs are very strong in PvP right now, and you probably don't want to consistently eat 15k+ crystal fragments.

And they aren't the only magicka users, I get hit by a ton of spell damage from DK (flame lash) and other classes too.

In fact you could say that stacking enough nirnhorn completely negates magicka-based attackers...well it might not be that severe but the damage mitigation is insane right now (until they fix it in a few months, then the meta will change again I am sure).

Personally Id use infused or divine trait, nirn is out of balance and using it is lame. Besides its getting nerfed in a month and infused etc would again be on par with it if not better. Personally I find torugs(3 set), mara, shadow dancer, healer and cyrodiils light sets worthy gear choices for any magicka builds. Also archmage and magnus.

Got a link to back up that prediction, or sheer guesswork?
