Returning player with VR7 templar

Hi! I'm a returning player with almost every PvE content there is ahead of me. Unfortunately I've been unable to find a a suitable, friendly guild ever since launch so I mostly play alone, and when I don't I have problems finding people to do PvE content with since almost everyone seem to be done with or simply uninterested in completion.
I play (played) a templar "tank" which went 2H when solo and sword/board when in groups/dungeons. The farther I went in the game, the more indications I got that templar tank is pretty much subpar and useless compared to DK's, and now that all points and skills have been reset I'm considering going full healer. Should I do it? I've leveled my blacksmithing pretty far but I'll probably will have to start over with enchanting, spellcrafting and clothing, right...?

templars are amazing tanks. they are absolutely not useless... as a healer, and templar myself, i prefer to have a DK tank but a templar is a close second.

also, i don't see why you can't have a full magicka build and still tank (with the right gear and skills). not sure about end game raids ("trials"?).

i can't comment on professions though because i also just came back and don't know wtf.

EDIT: for reference, i have a full stamina NB who is primarily built for DPS but i can tank vet dungeons when we can't find a tank. i can't speak to end game raids as a full stamina NB but i'm built for DPS so i don't plan on tanking in raids.
