Dye Weapons & Shields

LET ME DYE MY SHIELD ASAP!!!! WHAT THE HECK!

I a millionth this idea. Yeah, pink swords would suck, but guess what's even worse? purple swords. My crafted 2H sword is purple and there's nothing I can do about it, because of the materials used to craft it. It looks just as ridiculous as someone sporting a pink sword. I would just want to dye the blade a normal silver, and then maybe dye the hilt. So what's the big deal?

They could just restrict the range of colors you can dye the blade, if they're so concerned about the game becoming Elder Lightsabers Online.

Need to get to this shield dieing thing. It's the least they could do when they already have the ugliest shields I have seen in any MMO for a long time. Even a VR14 shield still looks like something I would see as a low level one in other games. All janky and wore out looking. Or, porcupine.

Weapon blades I would not want to see dyed. The blade color and look already changes based on the motif and material. I wouldn't mind the hilts and wraps being dyed.
Shields however NEED to be dyed. Shields throughout time have been colored to match house colors and insignia etc. They are a huge item on our backs and in our hands that can completely clash with our colors. I also think it would be AMAZING if we could put our guild Symbol/colors on our shields! That would be another way to show your guild spirit outside of just the tabard!

Yeah, I completely agree! I play FFXI(Final Fantasy 11) and its a 13 year old game that has some really nice looking colorful shields and weapons. ESO should have never been released when it was! (sorta off topic)The game was NOT finished in a big way. Game breaking bugs, a seriously crappy UI that still needs a bunch of added features/fixes, unbalanced issues with classes, & no real end game content what so ever! They needed and still NEED more time with their game to figure out what dose what and if they change part A then how will it effect part B.

Been asking for this since armor dyes. And still wanting I know purple swords are pretty common in a fantasy game and normaly the color of bad guys but brown leather wrapping and metalic blue-ish handle, shoulder and pommel with it kinda takes away the cool factor.

So someone who uses voidstone ingots to craft high end VR14 weapons must be condemned to parade around with purple glowsticks?

It would be very nice to dye our weapons+shields.
Other's may not notice it or care about it, but there's clearly a big push for it.
Another option to consider would be dying the costumes we get from the Crown Store or those we find out in the world on quests (not the regular clothing which I know is already dye-able).

I would love the ability to dye my weapons. I made a test VR14 Daedric bow and was quite disappointed that it looked like a wooden bow modeled after a Daedric one (kinda like a collectors item made of wood). It would be cool to make it black, like the ES games usually had them. Same goes with the daggers, I hate that they're not solid black like previous ES titles.

The bow confuses me especially because it's made of nightwood. Which is black in appearance...WHY IS MY BOW BROWN?!

Exactly this, I'm tired of my guy looking like he's color blind because his weapons don't come close to matching.

You could always dye your armor purple to match your weapons.

Haha what a strange statement, ZOS allow you to dye your entire armor bright purple but we draw the line at purple swords. I hope they implement it any time soon, I think a lot of weapons would look a lot cooler. I would really like to dye my Primal staff so the crystal looks bright and dangerous!

It truly is sorely needed. Shield dyes, definitely. Weapon dyes... people keep citing the specter of neon pink swords, but... I'd think for one way more people would rather have realistic metal colored blades (just consider how few have neon pink armor, which the system allows) and for another if they -really- are that wary of it, they can always limit the blade (or other metal business parts) colors.
