i am asking this, because i seem to remember from pre-1.6 days, that if u had a damage shield up, and got hit soooo hard it broke thru the shield, like maybe in one hit, the overflowing damage would be inflicted on HP regardless of the type of armour u were wearing.
in other words, if u had 3000 HP and a 200 point dmg shield, and got hit for 500 dmg, you would have an overflow of 300 dmg, bringing HP down to 2700. but if u had no dmg shield - but high armour rating, the hit for 500 would only do 250 HP damage, bring HP down to 2750. so u were actually better off without the damage shield.
it would be better if after the shield was broken, remaining damage would be re-calc'd to correctly account for damage mitigation of phys resist. but does it actually work this way yet? or still kinda flawed like pre-1.6???
