Which Crafting Sets for Veteran Leveling Stam Nightblade?

Hey all,

I'm a VR1 DW/Bow Nightblade. Currently I use 5 pieces of Hunding's Rage and 3/4 pieces of Night's Silence. I keep going back and forth on which sets are best to use for leveling through the VR zones. The four options are Hunding's Rage, Night's Silence, Ashen's Grip, and Night Mother's Gaze.

What do you guys think would deliver a really solid damage output without being so squishy that I'm constantly one shot?

I use night mothers glaze but I'm only v2 on my stamina nb. It's probably better in PvP though

Generally I see a lot of Hunding's/Ashen combos. NB are real squishy though so I think skills need to make up for a lot of it while leveling. Strife, Evasion, Leeching strikes, Reapers mark, Mirage etc.

Shades will help to take some of the agro off you as well. Oh and use veil of blades whenever its up for the damage mitigation.

I also see Hunding's/Ashen pretty frequently, which is one of the reasons I'm contemplating the switch. I would gain much needed health and survivability, but would my damage suffer any?

Had a preference for 5 Night's Silence and the Veiled Strike morph for Concealed Weapon during questing (less XP overall, but finish the quests and delves much quicker).

And 5 Hunding's Rage and 3 Ashen Grip for dungeons, dolmens, world bosses, etc.

I would say it will remain about the same. You'll lose a max stam and a stam recovery but you'll pick up a weapon damage and health. What you gain in health can then be transferred to stam via your attributes if you think you have enough HP to survive. This set up gets you more WD while keeping your max stam relatively the same. Should net you more damage as the stam recovery is not necessary. Your WP crit should stay the same as well.

These are minor changes at v1 and your survivability will more likely be a fctor of what skills and rotation your using as I previously mentioned.

Your damage will go up. With the 4 piece Ashen Bonus added to the 5 Piece Hundings, you get like 400 more weapon damage. This can only work if your sporting DW or 1H/S. Won't be as good a choice on a staff or bow or 2H user.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Hundings, Ashen or Nights is standard for DPS.

Just remember that Stam heals are few or weak, so consider how your going to survive group fights as well as the damage output you want.
If you want to stick with burst focus kills for heals via Killers Blade/Mark target then 5 Hundings 4 Ashen with DW gives you a comfortable mix of health and damage potential for burst focus kills just play with your health attribute/enchants to get to a comfortable level.
If you are using hots like Blood craze (DW) or Momentum (TH) then a 4/5 piece Vampires Kiss will supplement it at the cost of a slightly reduced time to kill.

With Bow the crit loss is negligible due to bow passive, I used 5 Hundings 4/3 Ashen on a DW/Bow build for 5 vet levels to good effect.

If you got DW all maxed out switch it to 2H+bow
Dual is good in general but it's more for precision attacks anyway and way better later in Trails and vet dungeons.
Use Hunding's Rage 5 and rest Ashen Grip
    2H:
Rally - constant healing + weapon power
Brawler - Damage shield (good for big groups and crowd control/stacking)
Heavy weave+Wrecking blow - big hits, main attacks in rotation.
Executioner - slotted buffs all weapon skills /Can switch for Killer's Blade too
Ambush - fast interrupt/stun, damage increase
Flawless Dawnbraker - considerably cheap and increases weapon dmg
    Bow:
Acid Spray - snare and good DoT
Double Take - to gain dodge and speed or Crippling Grasp - for DoT and speed
    Venom Arrow - range interrupt
Focused Aim - extending bow range, increasing damage
Reaper's Mark - Damage bonus + heal on kill
    Flawless Dawnbreaker again

Also good to switch in Evil Hunter for more crit and bonus damage chance.

With set-up like this and target prioritizing I was able to solo even huge groups in Craglorn without problems.
Anyway all depends on your playstyle and skills totally. Try out some new things, find your way

leveling content is not hard to think of survival. I've done vr1-vr10 locs solo (including all WB/Dolmens/Publics) in hundings(5)+ashen(3) with 2H/DW build (i have also leveled bow & 1h but 2H/DW build looks more efficient to me) without any survival problem. But i have heal with rally (it's really good heal) and I'm WW, so some bosses I killed with great DPS burst in WW-form.

A v1 stamina and health food (if you're on the NA server I can prob make you some). This will increase these resource pools by thousands and is likely why you feel so squishy. It makes a world of difference. Eat food and apply your toggles before you go to respec attributes so you have an idea where you'll be in an actual fight.

Im using night silence simply for the 5/5 combo to sneak fast past mobs, combined with Lvl 50 medium and lots of stam

Not really a crafted set, but along with already suggested Hundings Rage set, you can get 2 pieces of Red Mountain set (+weapon damage) at VR3 and 4 pieces of Dreugh King Slayer set (2x +weapon damage and +weapon critical) at VR5. That will greatly boost your DPS.
