You know I play a lot of games that aren't MMO's.
In any game, the siege engines of ESO have one of the most outrageously long windups / cooldowns, and they also telegraph their attack to the enemy with a big animated marker. The entire windup is telegraphed.
So these weapons doing significant damage is fine. At the density it's possible to set them up, it would be very difficult to organize players so well that they actually locked anyone out of a choke completely (given that Major Expedition exists) and even if you did, at least one side of the collection of siege engines necessary to do so would be vulnerable to attack that couldn't be locked out be siege spam.
So it is what it is, and I think it's good. It's tricky to hit players with siege shots in this game. Some of those shots were actually really good, showing great situational awareness and a little intuition as to where players would group up.
