Dunmer + Vampirism?

Can anyone tell me how weak a vampire is to fire with the max Dunmer racial fire resistance factored in? And if it doesn't negate it, just how much spell resistance/fire resistance do I need to have to negate the weakness?

AriBoh✭✭✭✭✭You cant negate it. Ever. Someone with Max fire resist would take 50% less damage from a fire attack. They then become a vamp and change nothing else, that resistance should go to about 25% maximum resistance. You take the extra damage no matter what you do.khele23eb17
Agreed. Whoever came up with the design should be shot in the foot and only admitted to hospital when he manages to find 3 other people willing to maim themselves the same way in order to accompany him.

✭The fire resist passives are a few % now.
Anyway, as a vampire you will take exactly 40% more fire damage than you would with the same resist as not being vampire.0 -

Thanks for clarifying this. Did it change post 1.6? My dunmer used to be a vamp and even without more fire resist it seemed they cancelled each other out. I picked it up again the other day and WOW. I dropped 3x in trash in Sanctum Ophidia. Promptly dropped it after that. I also hear dunmer passive is broken and increasing fire dmg susceptibility. Any thoughts on that?0 -
Mantic0r3✭✭✭incoming fire dmg *1.4*your_resi (0.5 for 50%) so even if you are hardcapped on fire resi u still take more dmg, thats how it has always been (prior to 1.6 it was *1.5 for beeing a vampire^^)
what you feel after 1.6 is that the fire resi passive from dunmer got a massive nerf.1 -

Yeah, that coupled with the light armor decreases must be why I felt so so so squishy as a dk caster post 1.6. Luckily with after dropping vamp, the undaunted passive & 1 med and 1 heavy things are looking up. Thanks for the info.0 -
