AFK timers in Cyrodiil

I am getting adjusted to Cyrodiil again after a long sojourn from the AvA realm. I have noticed many people afking in Cyrodiil for very long periods of time. Most MMOs institute and AFK timer for pvp instances. Because I see so many AFKing I assumed this is not the case with ESO(?). This would be a great feature to implement and help remove those who are not helping in the fight.

I do understand many go into Cyrodiil to quest and Skyshard hunt (which also hurts the war efforts greatly at times), but when a person is just idle for a half hour or longer that helps no one and with the population in many campaigns being high or locked it would free up a queue for someone who wants to fight.

I pretty sure there is an AFK timer. But it logs you out of the game for inactivity.

There is an idle out timer. It's like 15 minutes if I'm not mistaken. You probably see players who are chatting or just organizing inventory or something.

Yeah I know about the idle timer, but many MMOs like in WoW put in a stricter set of inactive timers for pvp because people were doing similar to what they are in AvA.... standing around moving every so often or hitting a button to stay active, but not participating in the battles.

How would you like this timer implemented? Do you want a ZOS GM to follow every player, monitor their activity level and then send a report for you to approve? Chatting for 10 minutes at the top of a battlement - kick. Reorganising inventory after taking a resource for 15 minutes - kick. Idle inside an outpost to take food out from the oven - kick. A 15 minute in-activity timer is already implemented, sure some people circumvent it but allocating more CPU cycles to policing how people spend their time in Cyrodiil is not needed.

    What does AFK stand for?
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

With the time it takes to get into cyrodiil (100+ ppl in queue over 1 hour) i think its fair game that someone can block a spot there when they want to eat or similar things with the intend to actively participate afterwards.

My queues have been at the most 10-15 min.

Though I appreciate the attempt at sarcasm, it is not that hard to implement a different inactive timer in Cyrodiil. No GM following required.

When most of the campaigns are locked and you need to queue there is a need to try something. If you have players in Cyrodiil just smelling the flowers and not participating in anything while others have to wait and are locked out of content they want to be in then .... Yes something should be considered.

LOL all these excuses from players using an exploit to go AFK.

Which is exacting what they are doing.

The timer seems to be much shorter than 15 minutes too.

I have been auto logged off in pvp in under 10 minutes.

I would also say doesn't matter what faction either all do it.
