Console Transfer

@ZOS_GinaBruno hey a question for clarification on the console transfer. My wife and I are both eligible for console xfer but on our xbox1 we only have one live account. Will we be able to access both account copies or will this require a second xbox live subscription? Would be great if xbox version was a login screen just like pc and it didn't matter what gamer tag it was associated with...

Thanks for the clarification :)

That's a really good question! I just realized if my BF decides to come back.. he would go console.. and we would be in the same boat.. Hmmm.. I hope we find answers!

How are you going to play at the same time with your partners?

Live account will not be enough. You need Live Gold. Hope you have it :)

You will definitely need two Xbox profiles tho

Just use the gold share feature and make the console your home console. Everyone has it that way (that's what we do as I buy all the games and xbl gold but my wife and two kids use my games and Xbox live gold)
If you have two consoles just let everyone else use the home console and you use the other
*Id strongly suggest that you NEVER share xbl profiles even if it's immediate family

This is our current single console setup (I think, my wife handles that...idk I know like Netflix, YouTube ...etc work but I think split screen or halo online doesn't work in our current setup except for the main profile ....not that we do but just curious about:"*Id strongly suggest that you NEVER share xbl profiles even if it's immediate family"

I've been an Xbox ambassador for a few years and I can share hundreds of horror stories from support where people have had Thor accounts locked, shut down, blocked, kids accidentally made purchases, etc.

Think of it this way...since the Xbox one launched all adults per the user agreement should have their own profiles.
Part of the reason they did away with the family gold and moved to a share gold and share games on a home console is so that people would stop profile swapping to share games.

People don't realize but if You're sharing an Xbox profile, you're also giving people access to Microsoft office, windows, email, purchases, one drive etc, office 365, and anything Xbox related like credit cards, Netflix, YouTube, and any other apps.

It's free for adults and I intentionally keep me and my wife's account seperate as she doesn't care much but if she decides to have company over and lets the kids, family, kids friends or anyone else use the console they have immediate access to all of that info.

The initial concern is security or just kids being kids but long term, you're responsible for any and all activity on your Microsoft account not limited to Xbox live.

So fir piece of mind and from thousands of support chats I strongly direct people to set up a unique account for each human always. If you have PPP frequent then create a child account (dummy account ) so that ppl aren't using your account

    Trust me....it's worth it.

AND set a password on your account and do not allow it to auto log in

    You'll thank me later
