How much health is needed for various roles to PVE effectively?

I am curious as to rules of thumb for getting your health to recommended amounts in order to run Vet Dungeons. For VR14, I've heard 30,000 for tanks and around 20,000 for DPS. Not sure about heals.

Also, I am curious how this decreases in lower vet levels. I have a VR3 tank and I want to start learning the dungeons but obviously 30,000 is out of reach and probably an overkill in anycase. What is a more appropriate number?

DPS and Heals need 18 to 20k, Tanks 25 to 30k.
Bobbity Boop, this game might become poop, but I'll still play because I'm just a pile of goop!

I have a VR6 DPS right now who has 21k of health, including the emperorship alliance buff, and she's an Imperial. Subtract all that, and it would be around 18k. You're 3 VR levels lower, but you're also a tank, so 18-20k might be a good value to shoot for. At VR14, you're also going to probably be wearing 2-3 item sets, with better enchants, not to mention eating food that gives ~3.5k health all on its own, all of which would give you the magical 25k+ for tanking.

EDIT: I almost forgot, one of my guildmasters has a VR2 tank that I was grouping with, and she had ~18k health.

DPS roles need to focus on their damage and healers on heals, so they do not need nearly as much health as a tank does.

id say DPS and heals need at least 18-20Kish. enough to the point where one wont die in one hit.

tanks probably close to 40K or mid 30Ks.

alright. so 19-20K it is. Just enough to where one can survive the powerful hard hitters.

My DPS got hit by Possessed Mantikora for 104,000 damage over the weekend. "Enraged Culminating Stomp" or something like that. So I'd say DPS need at least 105K health to not get one-shot. :-)

I personally tank with 21k at vr14 without emperor buff. Tbh, if you have enough mitigation and block, you won't get one shot as a tank.

Tanked all vet dungeons. Don't do trials so couldn't say for that if 21k is enough.

    Thanks for advice everyone.

What about healers? Same as DPS?

As a Healer, with Tri-food, I've got 19k health (with The Lord mundus) and 26k Magicka. Seems to be working wonders right now! Keep in mind Dampen Magicka is up 100% of the time, and I sometimes slot Blazing Shield if heavy Physical damage is in the area.

With food. If you are using a drink instead, probably hitting the lower amount in those ranges would work... As long as you aren't getting one shotted.

For my tank I'm currently doing drinks and it is working for me (but I'm no expert and am not end game yet). The dev's have said that drinks are now designed to fully make up the equivalent amount of food bonuses within 20 seconds. Logically speaking, that means that for any fight that lasts longer than 20 seconds, a drink would be better than the equivalent level food.

Once again, as long as you aren't being one shotted because in that case you would need a bigger overall pool and thus food.

I'm interested if that line of thought makes sense to people who are more experienced than me.

To not get one shotted in dungeons you should have a bare minimum 18k not including a food buff. Even that at times can be too low. Some of these bosses hit for almost 21k at times. I ran a Vet 14 Group last night in Elden Hollow and one of our DPS's was getting one shotted as they only had 16k health....You can't heal through that. If your health is that low and aren't running a shield of some sort your dead meat now.

Speaking of Elden Hollow, Bogdan has nasty habit having the fireball and next attack landing at same time causing the tank hp to dip quite heavily.

I have roughly 23-24k hp and use tri-drinks. At some point i considered using food instead against Bogdan.

I currently run my tank at about 28,500hp with food buffs. My dps at about 18-20,000 hp with food buffs. And, my healer at about 22,000 hp with food buffs.

    Hope that helps.

Did serpent hardmode with 18k HP (thats with food and no pvp buffs) and didn't die at any point during that 703 second f***fest, so I guess u can probably go lower still with ace healers/raid awareness.

Fair warning though any loose mob that uppercuts will murder u instantly and you can't lag within 5 meters of anything red. Hope you have tanks that taunt everything.

20k is great for dps, 25-30k is great for tanks. If you get hit by something passive (the whirlwinds, aoes) it will be around 17-18k even with good resistance, so 20k is a great number to not frustrate the healers :D
