BoL needs no nerf

BoL bugs and can still sometimes allow spells through. It's stupid to call for a nerf to it when it's still bugged this way.

Not all sorcs build for max regen, and those who don't build that way rely on BoL, if they chose that morph, to use as it was likely meant to be used: a few times per active engagement; they can't use it endlessly or to run away. A nerf to BoL would totally screw those builds.

And to the person who posted that other thread, no, you're not the only special snowflake who was using BoL before "everyone else started to." People still use Streak. I have only ever chosen the BoL morph because it fits how I like to play, period.

As others have already mentioned, it's regen issues with magicka and stamina that need to be looked at. There are also legitimate L2P issues going on with people needing to learn how to use block, CC, and dodge roll. There are issues with people refusing to comprehend this isn't a 1v1 game or that they can't always win or that the other person may indeed be more skilled. These deserve more consideration before putting forth an impulsive call to nerf a class skill that is not the actual problem.

1.I never said I was the first to use it. Where folks get that i have no idea. Ezareth was the one who tipped me off into using it back in may or June, so please stop making assumptions.

2. I know folks want to hold on to it I understand. I only have 1538 regen and I used BOL to have a zerg of 30 chase me from roebeck to nikel firing shards and such at me in futility. If i had streak instead I would have been dead. I have done things like this numerous times, its not an isolated incident. It renders most ranged magic useless.

3. Even when regen issues are addressed, it will be useless to use ranged magic against a BOL user. The only things that kept it from being Over the top in 1.5 was softcaps on regen and having your regen rate chopped in half for spamming it made spamming it I little more difficult of an affair.

4. Adding a 35% regen penalty to using BOL more then twice in a 4 sec period will balance out the skill without completely killing it like they have with Streak.

As I said before, go ahead refuse to compromise and watch ZOS swing that nerf bat mega hard. We have a choice here, to compromise and give up just a tiny little bit in spirit of the game and to save our class proactively, or we can continue to defend this position, and ZOS will see all those feedback forms folks are sending in game, and crush BOL with a giant nerf hammer.

Its our choice. If folks were as good of politicians as we are players, they would know that sometimes you do have to give up a tiny slice of that pie you want in order to keep the rest. Hopefully, the community compromises, because if past history is any indication, failure to do so will result in a nerf bat of epic proportions.

To be frank I'm trying to prevent that before it happens because I had enough of playing an underpowered class for months that could very easily end up back there if folks wont compromise.

Even with absolutely insane Magicka regen I still run OOM while bolt escaping *and* popping tri-pots.

With the nerf to Expert Mage, I think once they balance out the regens we're going to be bolting less than we were in 1.5

There really is no need to nerf the ability as much as there is a reason to buff streak a bit to bring it in line with BoL.

Bolt escape is the most expensive ability in the game to spam bar none.

The funny thing is my balls were already nerfed, heavy staff attacks go through them since 1.6.

Care to reroll one and give it shot then? Because I guarantee you are going to die a lot with leveling that class.

As for BoL you need to be around the shield for it to absorb and its only single target magickal attacks.

As for defeating a BE sorcerer, you want to put enough pressure on them so they have to use BE within those 4 seconds to burn through their resources faster.

No Magick, means no shields, heals or damage.

the reasons why people can spam skills so much are largely due to regan rates and gigantic resource pools.

no skill needs nerfing. tone down all these ridiculous 20K damage numbers and deal with regain rate and CS problems. Leave the abilities themselves alone.

every time i try and get you with mine lol, i have better timing with it now and know when to use it on BOL sorcs.
