1.6 Provisioning and SousChef -- suggestions?

So the new provisioning system has rendered portions of the info that SousChef provided irrelevant. What info should the new SousChef display?

I plan on keeping the recipe info the same -- knowing who knows what recipe is still useful. Similarly, ingredient tooltips will still tell you what recipes use that ingredient if you have those features turned on.

But what info should be displayed in the icons on the inventory view?

I'm leaning towards ingredient type: meat, fruit, vegetable, alcohol, tea, tonic, general food, general drink, and special ones each for Frost Mirriam and Bervez Juice. Any opinions?

@FoxPT The first time you log on with the 1.6 version installed, you will need to log into each of your characters once. After that, the list of new recipes will be updated automatically.

Hahaha! I took the sig from Eric Wrobel's shirt in Episode 8 of ESO Live. At one point Gina interrupts him to compliment him on it...

First, thank you for Sous Chef, it is one of the few addons I use.

I like the idea of this. While the item name should tell me what category it's in, that is not always clear. However with the number of ingredients seeming to decrease/staying the same, but with ingredients being used in many recipes, this will help me keep my inventory down by not carrying something I already functionally have.

In fact, just after typing the above, I thought about something else. Could have you have the tool tip also tell you how many you have in each type? This way I would not pick more meat if I have 100 of various types of meat already. Not sure if this is doable or not.

our number of ingredients will drop by 50%. In the 1.5 system there are 111 ingredients. In 1.6 there are 50.
Sous Chef markers were basically indispensable in the old system. Even I cannot remember which tier is suet and which cooking fat, nor which tier is camaralat grapes and which grapes are RI 5. I'll admit I had a ton of the ingredient table memorized but some areas of the table are almost never used that I relied on Sous Chef to know things like the difference between Crystal Berries and Mountain Berries.

The new system is not tier nor alliance driven and suddenly it is so simple to memorize. I have about 65% of food memorized already (until drinks are useful I doubt I will memorize the ingredients there) and I have spent no more than 1 hour on PTS.

The key to a new Sous Chef will be marking which fruits are Fruits, which are Drink Additives (Lemon) or Tea (Comberry) or Tonic (Acai Berry) or Alcohol (Surilie Grapes). Without Sous Chef, scanning kiosks considering the myriad uses of fruit would require more focus than should be necessary.

I am sure Sous Chef could track how much Isenglass I have. I think it does already - I turn off the Sous Chef tooltips (sorry) because I am using Crafting Material Level Display and Multi Bank Extended and those two pour tons of info into my tooltips already but cover all crafts not just provisioning.

I appreciate that Sous Chef tells me where an ingredient is used, how many I have, & most especially who knows what recipes.

Especially because of the crafting writs, I would like to be able to look up a recipe before running over to the cooking fire, then running all the back to pull items from the Guild Bank. Since Sous Chef has access to recipes, please provide an option to bind a key to pull up the known recipe database... This would also help a lot with the daily crafting writs!

When Sous Chef checks ingredients for a specified recipe, does it also check a specific Guild Bank (only if I want it to)? I can see needing to configure this (enable/disable per guild), as not everyone has full access to withdraw from the Guild Bank this way in all guilds.

    Thank you!

I use souschef... and like it!

the command /scstats is useful. I'd suggest the ability to hide recipes would be useful - or have I missed a switch somewhere?

I think Sous Chef is great and the only suggestion I have, is to some way indicate if the recipe is used for crafting writs.

If that feature is already in there or has been knocked back previously as unfeasible then I apologise (I'm fairly new to this!)

Thank you for an awesome add on.
Going toward the futre what I would love to see is:
    • More sorting in columns as in {drink, Food}, {Green, Blue, Purple}
    • A ways to mark recipes several ways as in { needed commonly for writ}, {Usual track recipe} and these be different colors different keybind.
    • Ability to DELETE character from character tracking, like if alts have accidentally learned it or no longer used)
    • colorizing with a icon, ingredients to sort them. such as Fruit, Meat, Seasonings etc. Meaning more robust sorting, perhaps additional levels of sorting.
    • A popup note pad like ZAM notebook to add notes on recipes ingredients (like add to note book with click)
    • An ability perhaps in settings to mark a specific ingredient, that way we can notice it is rare. It would show up as a icon in ingredient mouse over and as a colored (not white) ingredient on mouse over of recipe. Like Bervez juice does just user defined for Pumpkin or Jazbay grapes.

Whatever you do going forward make sure you still have time to play. And remember theres tons, tons of people enjoying their game more because of you.
