extended chains (chain pull) exploit!

Tonight in TB I witnessed 3 DC using EC to get in to farragut and basically hasten their siege on the keep. This is due to the changes you have made ZOS. I believe you stated in a past patch note that Dragon leap was not intended to allow this to happen. So I would assume that EC was not intended to do this as well, as what difference would it make? Especially when one is a skill and can be used for this purpose quite freely. Please let us know if it was meant to do that. Oh btw, they used the keep guards on the wall next to the gate to chain pull up to. They may have had someone use a root before they did it. Anyway it's seems like it's an exploit.

not an exploit, just using game mechanics to their advantage. Whether or not that is intended is something different entirely

Well that's what I'm hoping they'll clarify but the dev's don't ever respond to questions and comments like these. It won't get a response until 20 or so ppl from large guilds start bringing it up and complaining about it as well. I guess even in the forum's, numbers make the difference

Doesn't sound like an exploit to me, but next time you "witness" 3 guys from DC doing PvP, be sure to ask them what the heck happened to our BUFF SERVER... why is it so unreliable these last few weeks?

@Emma_Eunjung Because it isn't your buff server. Damned PvErs' thinking they're entitled to ***. :smirk:

Why don't you chip in yourself and secure the ongoing availability of 'your' buff server?

Hmm, I guess we'll have to see if ZOS has a statement concerning wether or not this an intended mechanism in the game. I find it odd that they clearly stated that ferocious Dragon leap wasn't meant to allow players to leap into the keeps, but they'd leave something like Extended Chains to do that very thing when it's just a skill and allows "us" DKs to get " early access" to keeps so to speak, without even having to build ultimate.

They really need to make a list of exploits and sticky them to the Alliance war section. Remove all confusion.

Nobody should even be fighting on the buff servers, if they had any sense at all. It's simply in EVERYONE'S best interest that all three factions have a stable buff server. You can call it meta-gaming or whatever, I don't care.

Furthermore, as I'm sure you're aware, different factions respected the buff servers for months and confined most of the combat to a single server. What changed?

I really hope the PvP staff is reading this thread right now. Telling them is one thing, but having them see and realize it for themselves, straight from the source of the problem, is another. ...and i'm not referring to dk chains.

It looks like AD has 2 solid buff servers now with EP slightly dominant on the other 2, but I'm only going off the numbers at EsoStats, which may not be up to date.

It's only really in PvE'rs best interest. PvP the buffs from your home campaign are overridden by the campaign you're in, so you'll find most PvP players will generally just go where the fighting is.

Any respect was purely out of numbers - most fighting was on Thornblade the last few months because that was the only active campaign. Anyone venturing to others would 3bar'd out by those wanting to hold the buffs. What changed? Removal of sub I suspect - the weekend had 3 out of the 4 campaigns at (near) full population. If there was respect to stay off three campaigns for buffs, that's 3 alliances x 3 campaigns worth of population that would have to queue up for Thornblade!

thats the very definition of "exploitation"

not a bad thing, 99% of all battle is exploitation of something to get an advantage over your enemy...

Unintended it likely is however, that DKs can take advantage of this specific thing.
I play every class in every situation. I love them all.
