I have all my setting turned down all the way and the ones that can be disabled and I can still see pets and my reflection in water. Sureley that kind of graphics can be turned down to better preformance.
I'd like the option of blocking out other players too (except for my group members), but that's in the too-hard-to-do category.
To all who posted here, the following isn't directed at anyone other than ZOS.
The thing I am wondering about is WHY, WHY, WHY should I turn down all my settings for server lag??? ZOS created this game and all it's wonders for us to enjoy. Why should I have to turn down my settings when the lag/crashes I am experiencing are IMO server sided?
Almost a YEAR later, I never used to have an issue with Wayshrine crashes until 1.6 was implemented. After that, EVERY TIME I try and port into Rawlkha from another Zone I get a crash <1> Error. PVE Dungeons and questing HAS NEVER lagged like this prior to 1.6. When an entire group is having lag issues with delayed spell casts, locking weapon swap bars, mob's moving from one place to another instantly throwing off targeting is happening that's not my system/internet's issue, that's a server issue. This is happening at the same time to people in different states in the US on different Internet providers so it's not an individual latency issue.
ZOS removed deer and torch bugs from Cryodil to help with lag issues there and when 1.6 came along, lag there is worse than ever.
ZOS added the Crown Store introducing all these new pets that people have out and about now which is increasing lag and lowering FPS IMO.
Granted I HAVE NOT tried out the today's patch yet so I don't know if all of these things are fixed yet. From the state of the forums and the timing of posts I'm going to go out on a limb and say they aren't.
ZOS needs to figure out these issues ASAP and get them resolved. If THEY need to tone down the intensity of the graphics effects then so be it. Why should the PAYING CONSUMER have to lower the quality of our gaming experience because the core gaming code has issues? If there's an easier, more efficient way to code the game that will resolve this, then they need to find it.
@ZOS please stop working on Crown Store updates for a few weeks and please resolve the core issues of the game that are causing so many people problems.
This game has TREMENDOUS potential, but only if you can resolve the issues that are affecting daily game play.
At the end of the day, it doesn't matter HOW detailed/beautiful the graphics are if we log off because we can't play the game due to the issues that aren't being fixed.
