Hi there!

I'm one of the horde of players returning to the game, and am really looking forward to trying out the Champion System.

It's my understanding that - with the removal of soft caps - that racial choices really matter these days, so I'd like to ask your indulgence.

I'd like to experiment with a Magicka-based Nightblade (I'll be playing on the Ebonheart Pact side because I'm a HUGE fan of the Tribunal) and I'm wondering whether an Altmer or Dunmer would be a better choice for endgame.

I plan on building around NB class skills for Magicka-based burst and escapes. I will NOT be picking up the Vampire skill line.

Here's my question: Will the 9% spell regeneration from the Altmer or the 6% Stamina increase from the Dunmer be a better choice for the Cyrodiil hit-and-run?

    Breton is better imo than both those both. Speaking purely magicka based.

    Or if you PvP Bosmer with it's passive 21% stamina regen is really nice, even for casters. Imperial is a decent all around choice, and that's what mine is.

    Though I have re-rolled her to be a Bosmer, as I love stamina play.

    Just my thoughts, from a pvp perspective.

    Yeah, Xeniph, the Breton racials look really nice but I'm over human toons for a while. I want something a little more...not human. LOL!

    As a NB, you just can't beat the new Bosmer racial.

    NB- Refreshing shadows 30% stam regen

    Bosmer racial- 21%

    Totaling +51% Stamina regen for doing nothing.


    One of the greatest weaknesses of any pvp caster is low stamina for block/dodge/break free.

    If you are dead set on Altmer or Dunmer, then the Altmer would be a better option for your describe playstyle. However magicka builds in ESO have so many gear sets with cost reduction/regen/spell damage it's not even funny.

    And should you want to be a magicka melee, the Kajiit and Bosmers stealthy passive can't be beat for burst, from stealth.

    Xeniph, that is EXACTLY the kind of breakdown I was looking for.

    I'll give the Bosmer a second look. If I can't handle the aesthetics, Altmer it is.
