Magicka Templar help

Hello everyone. I am a returning player and there seem to be so many changes I am really lost. I have a VR 9 Templar that I want to finish leveling, I am using Destruction Staff and Resto staff and I am wearing heavy armor. I was hoping to build a magicka mage type of Templar that can survive pretty well which is why I chose heavy armor. Is there a Heavy armor set that would give me bonuses to magicka, magicka regen, and spell damage? Do I put all my attributes in Magicka? Is some thing like this viable? Any help you could offer would be much appreciated.

Offhand, you could craft pieces of the Magnus' Gift (among others) armor set to get where you seem to want to go. The Soulshine set would also line up with this approach.

Beyond that, consider whether or not the light armor passives bring enough value to add a piece or two to the mix.

In terms of your attributes, a lot of folks seem to favor going all Health while leveling - but this is a PvP forum, so... be aware that leveling by playing in Cyrodiil can take longer than PvE content found elsewhere in ESO. You can pick up Magicka and Stamina by adding the desired glyphs to your armor.

I'm running Magnus' Gift x4 with resto, x5 with 1h and shield which you will not be able to do with your destro but you should be ok (Magnus 5th piece is not that make or break); 2x seducer, 3 x Syrabanes grip; 2x Allessian order (along with werewolf as I needs my stamina to survive) Glyph magicka on armor, spell cost reduction on jewelry. Magicka regen mundus.

Still have been kind of tweaking but so far its not so bad.
