DPS build in a post apocalyptic 1.6 HELP PLZ

Alright, just as the title says, I am rolling an alt, and would like to make the focus on DPS. I have a VR14 Templar, so I want to try something else. I was thinking SORC, even with all the negative threads about them, or my second choice is the DK. I have the Imperial package, or a race in AD. Beyond that, I am willing to try out whatever sounds best from here. I mainly focus on end game/dungeons, but do PVP from time to time. (Not so much worried about that side of it yet. Focus should be building for dungeons)

Some thoughts:

DESTRO / 2H for both - either STAM or MAG skills. Not particular there, so long as the DPS is high. Armor would obviously depend on whether I was STAM or MAG. I also have 80CP on my account, so that will hopefully get me off to a better start. As well as DPS, if I could get good AOE DPS or CC to help with groups, that would be a bonus for me.

Well I thought that list would be longer. Truly a newb at this point. So I am going to keep it short, as ya'll are probably busy.

I appreciate the help in advance. And if it matters, I frequent the forums quite often, so no need to turn this into a "What is wrong with X" thread. I want to know what works. I want to know how to make either of those classes a strong DPS/Support player for groups. With that in mind, thanks in advance for the time you take to stop in.

DK, all day, in every way.

DK's can translate well to 2h builds, I've seen the numbers but just wasn't my playstyle. They can also be tanks.
If you want to be pure damage, dunmer caster is probably strongest still. However can't really go wrong with an imperial DK as regardless of what comes down the pipes you always have that 12% additional health to play with. It can make a huge difference in your pools of magicka/stamina and the difference in damage is negligible between dunmer and imperials sometimes.

DK's also stomp face in AOE, strong CC abilities. Ardent Flame tree synergizes really well with magicka builds, Earthen Heart tree gives some strong stam passives and abilities as well. Sorcs... yeah I don't even know. Go DK. I have both classes and just trust me.

Okay, thanks @Jules - I have been playing with both the DK and the SORC over my weekend. I do like the playstyle of the DK more than the SORC. So any good pointers on the skills I am suppose to put the focus on? Obviously by end game I would like to have as many skills open as possible, but perhaps some help on the skills that can maximize my AOE and DPS results?

Currently I am lvl 9 DK with most of my points going into MAGICKA. I have good crafted armor for the HEALTH stats. I am using the 2H, currently lvling the Uppercut. Also have the first 2 skills of each DK class skill used. I am noticing that I like the MAGICKA base for my character, and I think I will focus on that. Again, I think the DESTRO staff will compliment this well for AOE DPS later. Just looking for some advice on which skills are great for end game. Currently, I am running 5 MA/1LA/1HA to level each line, but am looking at possibly doing all 5LA/2HA for the MAGICKA management.

So talons is out? Are you focused mainly on the single target DPS? I did see you had some spells for AOE, but not many. I am just wondering if there was a different set up you use for that? And you completely went down the DESTRO line...is that because you are not using the STAM abilities, or is it because you think DESTRO is more DPS than 2H?

Lastly, what are some of those add ons you are using?

DK caster here with basically a carbon copy of xMovingTargets firespitter 2.0 and i absolutely love it. Haven't quite got the single target rotation dialled, but i'm getting good dps with the right gear.

My v5 DK converted to stamina just recently and while the damage and survibability is good, i find 2h melee quite boring.

For AOE i cast structured entropy followed by eruption then spam fire ring, things melt fast like that.

Ive been playing a sorc since beta as my main and like the play style but its a lot harder to get the hang off. End game pve dps probably will be lower than other classes but Hardened Ward, Crystal Frags and Ball of Lightning are incredible good in pvp if you learn how to use them properly. DK is also a solid choice but I would decide based on the play style you like.

Full Destro Staff. You dont need that much AoE abilities anymore. So basically Eruption and elemental ring and you are fine. Talons are nice for the synergy in vDSA. See here :

Stamina build are damn boring to play. I dont like it. In most cases I outdps our stamina users with Firespitter

End game post 1.6 just look at what @xMovingTarget is doing in those vids and you'll be successful if you have those things leveled. Important to remember when leveling: make sure you get your lore books as quickly as possible. DK casters use a lot of Mage guild abilities. Level up your destro immediately to 38 to get impulse- that + talons + standard of might and things will just MELT. out of destro also be sure to level all 5 abilities if you can, especially weakness to elements and force shock you'll probably use those later. Level up undaunted for the taunt and heavy armor & sword and board for tanking too. Off specs are nice in end game bc someday you'll get bored and wanna do something else maybe. Thanks @Jules - I will be online some at night, but mainly SUN - TUES since it is my days off. Right now my DK is at level 9, so still in the new stage. Got to park my Templar for a bit and get serious with leveling. I am on the NA server and will for sure to drop a line when I have the time. Yeah i seen your 2.1 build, but would you say that is more for trials? I fell out with my my pve guild leader so havent done them in a while, mainly just do dailies with her atm. I'm thinking of losing a spell damage glyph on jewelry and replacing it with a pot cooldown glyph so won't have magicka sustain issues, mainly because i cant get on with ss
