Im green as grass in this delicious game...and im wondering, besides buying repair kits, at some point in our crafting development lines are we capable of performing item repairs at the same table we use to deconstruct, create and improve?

No, you cannot repair your own equipment that way. Repair kits or any vendor can repair all your equipment.

    Thanks for the reply/info.

I hope they will change that. Its hard to imagine taking an item somewhere that can perform all the actions from decon, improvement and creating it from scratch but when asked...hey can u fix this for me?...s/he says..uh..no
Kinda destroys the immersion aspect re craftng, at least for me.

Unless....at some point crafters can create repair kits for sale.

We've been asking for Crafters to be able to repair our own gar since launch, ZoS doesn't seem to care about implementing it sorry.

Perhaps if we expressed interest in an option to buy a key from the new crown store, say on a monthly fee basis to unlock the repair ability in crafting. It would serve to pay for the devs time to code it and support this wonderful game overall as well...and us...the reason the game exists.

Repairing items is one of the games gold sinks. If you are really new to the game, I suggest you DO NOT repair any armor until you get to much higher or even end game levels. You need to gold for other things in the early game, and it is much easy to replace worn armor with dropped items or crafted armor. By end game, repairs is one of the only expenses for a self-sufficient account, i.e. able to craft, cook, and make any potions without buying from others. I would be surprised if crafters ever get the repair ability, as the game needs gold sinks.

I think I was levelling a third or fourth character when the game wanted a couple of grand to fix all of the armour which, if sold at 100% repair, was only worth about 700. That was when I decided that all of my characters would have crafting skills to make what they needed.

This is one reason I actually like this. While it would be good to be able to repair armour and weapons, especially those I've made, I can understand the requirement for gold sinks...

...especially when those sinks tend to increase the number of active crafters in the game or, even better, create business for the existing ones. I've met a lot of people over the last year who have needed armour crafted. Usually because they didn't have the time/inclination to do it for themselves. You do have to be careful with pricing though. For guild mates I usually craft the first set (Blues) for free, after that I pitch a new set in or around 50-80% of the repair cost for a full set. It tends to be a bit more for other people though ;).
