Should Magicka Detonation be an instant cast?

    What would stop a bigger zerg from instant casting it on your small outnumbered group? No, i think it would be a better solution if the skills damage scaled based on how many players are in the red circle at the time of detonation.

    Would be hilarious watching the zergs melt eacother with instant cast ranged aoe though, lmao.

    lol This skill is already awesome to rack ap. if it was insta cast ... What I love the most is when attacking or defending a keep. Entropy/Forcepulse/Scale/detonation/sea of flame/Shooting star.

    Burst AOE damage is already very high. No need for more facilities to get it even more harmful.

    People need more tools to mitigate AOE damage, especially tools that do not promote zerging. The game is lacking long range AOE CC; it's now obvious to me. Could be new alliance war abilities.

    This being said, people no longer stack in a zerg ball defensive stance. This is a great progress owing to the new 1.6 combat mechanics.

    Magicka Detonation offers great opportunities when it is used correctly. Instant cast shouldn't be considered as it would be overpowered (spam) and furthermore impossible to avoid.

    Instant cast would make the skill too strong, but I would be oke with reducing the cast time to 1.5 seconds.

    in prinziple, instant cast would make the skill too strong.
    Problem with the cast time though is, that when you need the skill the most (i.E: trying to break up a very large hostile group) - cast time skills have a tendency to not work at all as they are hit twice by the lag.
    Cast time skills have to "pass the lag" to start casting, and have to "pass the lag again" to finish casting. Hence, cast-time skills do not work to fight in high-lag enviroments.

    But still, making it instant cast just so that it actually works when you would need it most still makes it too powerfull...

    no its not like curse atm, you can keep casting it on different targets, but if you cast it on the same target it just refreshes.

    needs a 1 second cast time imo and increased damage by 25% for every player caught in the circle at the explosion.

    Also double the range and dmg.. a additional unblockable stun for 10 secs and major heal reduce wouldn't be bad either.

    If it were instant case, a group could just use Proximity Detonation over and over dealing extremely high damage. Every group would be a "bomb group".

    This skill was made to use against bomb groups. You cannot use it when a bom group is fighting. Lag make you incapable of cast it. so its just a slot killer on our skill bar.

    Fine as is. Don't need a ranged pulse spam. BTW it helps zergs more than anyone with more people casting it. Only way to address that that I've heard is having it hit harder the more people around.

    No. The casttime is a tad long though. I´d reduce it to about 1.3 seconds and give it a buff to increase dmg by 10% for everyone in the radius.
