spells vs physical damage defense imbalance

I'd like to know why spell damage has many more ways to defend against and reduce vs physical damage.

Through the champion system you can reduce... flame frost shock, poison disease magic, you can also increase spell resistance, but the only way to reduce physical damage is with the armor focus points.. which I believe also increases spell resistance.

When you look at pvp, there are more ways to reduce/absorb/negate magic, such as annulment.

It just seems like it's been overlooked.

add on top that nearly all spells are treated as projectiles in regards of blocking wich cripples them even more against shield users (the on tied to your chars arm ;))

Umm. Block, shield spells, dodge, armor....just saying.

I would, however, love to see Defensive Posture reflect also work for physical projectiles but other then that I'm pretty cool with the mitigation being where it is.

So you can mitigate magickal aoe damage by blocking since the patch?

Otherwise your agruments are invalid as blocking is the best mitigation in game.

Apparently the OP didn't get it. Magicka was the enemy and the whole point of the 1.6 balance changes was to slay it. Magicka took nerfs all over the place in 1.6.
