From 1.6 patch notes..
Critical Resistance: This attribute no longer reduces the chance to be hit by a Critical hit.
Critical Resistance now reduces the bonus damage caused by a Critical hit, and with enough, can reduce the bonus damage to 0.
The amount of Critical Resistance required to completely eliminate the unmodified bonus damage from a Critical hit is 50 * (your Character Level + your Veteran Rank number).
For example, a VR14 would be 50 * (50 + 14).
So a level 49 needs 2,401 resistance to completely negate crit damage from vet 14 critical hit ?
But a vet level 14 needs 3,200 resistance to completely negate the same vet 14 critical hit ?
How is that balanced.. you get penalized for being a higher level? A vet 14 should have an advantage over a lower level player if they choose to do so. (i.e. NB playing in character picking off weaker opponents)
For 100% crit elimination, the formula should be 50*(50+14) regardless of level. Lower level chars should have lower effective resistance.. otherwise what is the point of developing/levelling the char.. ??
It doesn’t promote a competitive or realistic game mechanic.
It looks like a quick fix that works for PVE (because generally you wouldn't be fighting mobs much higher levels than you). Terrible for PVP.
Any thoughts?
