Flames of oblivion bug

Reykice
Reykice
✭✭✭✭✭
It only provides 10% critical chance... while it should provide 20%.

The DK spell Flames of Oblivion that also gives Major Prophecy provides 20% critical chance.

This will cause DK`s to have 10% more critical chance than any other class as only they can access the spell.

Please fix it before launching 1.6 to live.

What makes you think 2099 (or whatever) is 20% and not 10% for V14 ?

    Wasn't 600 something 4% ?

That's all a bit weird and they should show how much % crit those numbers would actually give your character in the tooltip, too.

Also I don't see why DKs should not have that 10% bonus - it's not a passive but a class ability that should be superior to Inner Light for damage output I think.

In the same way that surge is superior to entropy - a wait no - thats a sorc ability at least...

    Are you kidding?
For example, if we follow your logic, sorc must have surge bonus 30% instead 20%.

Your post makes it clear that you are not getting the new system. Don`t worry guides will be available soon i guess.

Both spells give the same buff, Major Prophecy. The DK one gives 20% crit while the mages guild one gives 10%. Simple as that. Its a bug.

Also, LOL @ you for trying to balance DK`s based on clear bugs... maybe they should also introduce a bug decreasing all the damage a DK does by 50%, i`d love to see you defending that.

    Kids today.

How did you check? Cause all Major Crirical buffs (Savagery or Prophecy) give exactly 2099 bonus which equates to 10% critical. So that means that the DK buff actually gives 4198?

Do you happen to have some kind of bugged stat altering addon?

Naked DK, VR 14. Crit chance 10%, default.

Activate skill 1. Check critical. Then deactivate skill 1 and activate skill 2.

DK skill = 30% crit in total(10% base)
Inner Light = 20% crit in total(10% base)

I reported this already in 1.6 or 1.6.1.
Major Prophecy and Major Savagery grant 2099 critical rating (spell - weapon), that is 10%.

If Flames of Oblivion gives 20% crit then it's still bugged, as correctly explained in the linked video.
Inner Light is fine (like other sources of Major Prophecy and Savagery), while Inferno should be fixed.

Edit: the bug applies just to Major Prophecy granting 4.198 spell critical rating instead of 2.099.
The affected skills are Inferno and both its morphs, Sea of Flames and Flames of Oblivion.

@ZOS_JessicaFolsom , @ZOS_GinaBruno could you please forward this to the team before going live with patch?

    Great, thanks. :)
Anyway as I explained the bug applies just to spell crit and it's on the base skill and both morphs.

2099 crit rating = 10% crit on a VR14. That is the conversion, so yes, this is 100% BUG. Call the exterminators pls.

With the new buff system Major Prophecy is 2.099 spell critical rating (10%) and Major Savagery is 2.099 (10%) weapon critical rating.
Infact using a potion or a skill granting the same major buff doesn't stack.

According to you why infact does Flames of Oblivion provide 20% spell crit and 10% weapon crit? ;)
Same applies to Inner Light, Potions, Expert Hunter and morphs, Sun Fire and morphs, Biting Jabs: these all provide 2.099 - 10% crit.

Hey guys, just to provide some clarification on this, Flames of Oblivion provides the Major Prophecy buff (which increases your Spell Crit by 10%) and Major Savagery buff (which increases your Weapon Crit by 10%) while the ability is active. That said, there’s currently an issue where your character sheet is showing the incorrect value with your Spell Crit chance, but we can assure you that you’re getting the correct value (10%) on the backend and are working to fix the UI error.

Good it is just an UI problem.
The same UI issue for spell critical chances applies also to the basic skill Inferno and the other morph Sea of Flames.

I am sorry it was not an insult but you can't use a bug like this especially since they are trying to have all the bugs equal...

Yes some bugs are beneficial but in the end all bugs should be fixed.
i was also wrong about the bug as you can see and if its only a tooltip bug then its not major... i edited the title.

How do these show up on the Character Sheet? Is it just the Spell Crit and Weapon Crit values changing, or are they actually listed in Active Effects as Major Prophecy and Major Savagery? (If they aren't in Active Effects, they should be.)

I should check it again to be more precise but this is what I recall: check critical chances before buff and after buff, you will see different percentages.
As stated by Gina, it's just an UI issue about Inferno.
For Inferno and both morphs, you will see two buff tracked under active effects: one for the critical component and one for the fireballs.
This is what I recall but it can help you or others to check it. :)
