"Twin Blade and Blunt": DOT doesnt apply on Damage Shields *proof inside*

Title says it all...

The DOT of this Dual Wield passive (while wearing two axes) doesnt apply, when the enemy has damage shields.

Already reported this with 1.6.1. Just saying.

I don't think any of the weapon dots apply through shields... yet shields absorb the damage from them... does not make sense.

Isn't it intended that you are supposed to break down the damage shield and then damage the player? If the damage by passes shields what is the point of shields?

I don't see you mentioning the real issue here though, do you find it completely reasonable that lots of abilities and such don't work because you have a extra bar of HP essentially? That just makes dots worse which is sad.

so you are OK with half of the abilities in the game not working because of a damage shield? and not just DoTs mind you. With your logic, shields should block absolutely EVERYTHING they did and do now; CCs, knockbacks, DoTs, all of it.

I am VERY disappointed in you. I thought you were better than this asgari:(

Ah well, I guess its just another fallen legend.....

    alright, enough with that crap.

seriously though, I am disappointed in you:(

My understanding of the game mechanics in 1.6 is that DOTs are there to have a sustainable damage output in PVE. They are kinda useless in PVP. I can understand this approach but I don't like it. As a stamina DK I miss a class skill with a high burst damage...

Didnt want to start a discussion if dots should damage the shields at all, but for now most of the dots apply on damage shields, so this dual wield passive dot should do that too.

you´re mixing up some points. dots come in several ways - weapon dots beside bow are all listed as bleeds. to have someone bleed you actually have to hurt/hit them, but with the vision verbalised by the devs crits are not happening vs shields as they are somekind of buffer around the char neglecting strike vs the chars body you are unable to scratch the char beneath for bleeds or crits hiting vital bodyparts...
so it might be unintuative but within the games logic.
spelling and grammar errors are free to be abused

It's not only about the weapon dots of Twin blade and blunt. It's about all the bleeding effects in general. I've reported this issue too, filed a bug, and did not get any official statement about whether or not this is working as intended.

    The problem is quite simple:
    - Casting a damage shield immediately purges any bleeding effects
    - In 1.6 people will use their damage shield quite often, as a result of the armor rating change, and because casting a damage shield offers a huge protection and is largely affordable - the ratio gain / cost is just outstanding
    - In Cyrodiil, this means that many abilities, passives, and sets, including but not limited to Twin Slashes, Blood Craze, Twin Blade and Blunt, Twin Sisters, are just useless - confirmed on the PTS in small scale combat situations
    - This is yet another source of imbalance between the stamina builds (bleeding effects are often stamina build oriented) and magicka builds (damage shields do not purge elemental dots for instance)

I don't think it's good for the sake of build diversity that abilities, passives, and sets causing a bleeding effects become useless in 1.6. This is a too restrictive limitation, or hopefully just a bug that will be fixed.

@ZOS_GinaBruno can you please have a look into this and tell us if this is a known issue? Any chance it's addressed before 1.6 is released? Thanks :)
