Has anyone been able to test the updates to Critical Surge that were put in 1.6.1? I was waiting for NA Character copies to test this out. Is the .25 Cool down still causing problems with DoT's or is it giving decent heals now?
Thanks!

It still procs on little bitty DoT's, as of... 5 minutes ago
For magicka sorcs, though, it's ok. Hardened Ward is good enough that you will do fine in any situation where you previously relied on Crit Surge to not die. Basically, you can't tank with your Health bar anymore, healing to stay up. All the more so, as Light Armor now provides almost no mitigation.
You just have to adjust. I just tried soloing multile packs in Spellscar, for example. On live, my VR14 sorc finds this blindingly easy. On test, it's a little more challenging, as you can't spam block anymore and you need to recast Ward a lot. But it still works just fine.
I'll be fairly happy with magicka sorcs, if they went live as-is*. Stamina sorcs probably need Crit Surge to be fixed, though, as they can't make good use of wards.
*assuming they fix the bug with Streak/ Bolt Escape not proccing Crystal Fragments!
Thank you for the information. That helps out a lot! I figured that the DoT's were still going to cause issues with the CD on Surge. I wish ZOS would just remove the DoT's and give a better DPS AOE spell. Then the healing supplied by it would be decent.

It also causes other oddities. For example, Thundering Presence should be a great skill for Stamina Sorcs. But.. those little lightning tics would actually reduce your healing from Crit Surge. So, it's suddenly a mixed blessing.
