Ninja Nerf To Streak Or Bug?!

Streak will never proc Crystal Fragments on the PTS. It procs Crystal Fragments all the time on Live. I have /bug'd the issue. This is very upsetting.

Just hopped on to pts to check, you are correct good sir. went through a few bars of magicka streaking and not one proc of crystal frags. not good.

Yeah I just noticed this too, no CF proc from BE, (streak morph)

CF procs as a whole seem to be buggy. I don't think we're getting 35% proc rate on everything. Our DPS is utterly dependent on CF procs.

I did some tests as well, 20+ casts each, to find other spells that will not proc Crystal Fragments:

- Bolt Escape (oddly, Ball of Lightning will proc it)
- Encase (also, Shattering Prison)

I /bug'd it on test.

This is definately not intended.
I'm not using Bolt Escape on my Crystal Shard bar anyway, but it's still a big bug in my opinion

Have you tried to use other attack who proc the shard on a enemy protected by a damage shield, or proc the shard with other buff capacity (such as surge) ? If it's don't work, so the shard may probably proc only on damage now.

Lets see, in pvp all u need to do is streak thru a bunch of your enemy's, drop your bat swarm and proc proc proc. The Reds have tons of sorc's doing this constantly. Would be nice to cast a brick wall and stop the streaker's he he.

So, perhaps crystal frag proc on damage ability only if some damages are done.
If I can, I'll make some test tomorrow.

Clearly you are not a Sorc because you dont understand how CF works. CF has a 35% chance to proc with any magika abilty use. It doesnt have to deal damage or even hit another player. It should proc on everything and it's not.

Sorc builds are very limited and fragile. If they start nerfing our core abilities like this, were going to have a bad time.

My main character is a sorc, I just try to understand why streak don't proc the crystal shard. I know shield protect against any damage and procs, so perhaps ZOS make a change to the shard : only non-damaging ability or damaging ability when they do some damage can proc.

Yes, I know that sorc are limited on 1.6, and moreover weak in pve on 1.6. I hope that sorc will be boosted on 1.6.2, but without unbalanced the pvp (who are more or less fine in my opinion).

You can't balance sorcs with the assumption that they're all Vampires.

So, definitively there is a problem. If you deal damage, there is absolutely no reason for Streak to not proc the fragment.

Except thats not how it works. It has nothing to do with damage on live and should have nothing to do with damage on pts. Anything less is a nerf and should be viewed as such.

On 1.5, cristal proc have anything to do with damage, I agree. But we are in 1.6, and crystal don't proc with streak. So, I try to find a reason.
The only reason I've found don't work, so it is a bug, nothing less. Or a nerf, and the sorc don't need another nerf.

This is clearly a bug, particularly in cases (Like Bolt Escape) where the behavior depends on the morph.

I would encourage others to hop in, test skills and /bug the results. I'm not sure what it takes to move up in the priority fix queue, but I do know this is a significant problem for sorcs.
